Question: When Hiller is leading his squadron for the first air battle against the aliens Jimmy makes a short speech as the "Reverand" - putting on an accent - and talking about how he's sure they'll be successful. Can someone tell me is doing an impersonation of a real life person or is it something unique to the movie and his fellow pilots?
Answer: He seems to be doing an impersonation of Jesse Jackson.
Question: A thought occurred to me and my mum after we had seen the film at the cinema. Mme. Giry and the Phantom are friends, and probably grew up seeing a lot of each other, and there is never any mention of Meg's father of Mme. Giry's husband. Is it possible the Phantom could be Meg's father?
Answer: This is very common to think among the questions I have heard. In the 2004 film during "Down once more/Track down this murderer" the Phantom says: "That fate which condemns me to wallow in blood, has also declined me the joys of the flesh." He is a virgin. Also, in the original story, the two were not friends at all. Giry did his bidding because he led her to believe, through a note given to her, that he could make Meg some form of royalty or the next big thing. Madame Giry and Meg were both actually very intolerable beings, Meg constantly treating Christine like dirt and being her biggest bully (even more than Carlotta) It is likely the phantom never even lifted a finger to try and assist Meg because of that.
Question: I wonder whether Kraven and Lucian are actually the two (out of three) Sons of the Corvinus clan. Before Lucian died after being shot by Kraven, he called him 'cousin'. I would also be grateful if anyone would explain what Viktor meant by Marcus being a descendent of Corvinus (Does it mean that Marcus turned one of the sons of the Corvinus clan into a vampire or he is related to that guy who survived the plague? I'm confused).
Answer: Alexander Corvinus was the first true Immortal, he had three sons, William bitten by wolf, Marcus by bat and the unnamed third who remained human. Michael Corvin is the last true human descendant of Corvinus in the present world.The cousin reference is that all vampires and lycans are related through the bloodlines after being turned. This is why Michael survives a bite from both species. Normally the viruses they carry are deadly to humans and no one has survived a bite from both species, except Michael who becomes a hybrid, half vampire, half Lycan, but stronger than both.
Question: In the true story of "Cool Runnings" did they really carry their sled to the finish line?
Answer: The video footage of the crash was all real, but the racers did not carry the sled to the finish line, they walked in front of it as the Olympics crew/ team members pushed it behind them.
Question: In the title sequence for season 2 there is a shot of Prue in Bucklands wearing black and she moves a vase across her desk. Does anybody know what episode it's from?
Answer: It's actually a deleted scene from the Season 2 opener titled "Witch Trial" In the episode, a demon begins reversing the sisters' spells, and this particular scene is Prue testing her own power to make sure it is still active. The scene was cut though, and wasn't in the episode.
Question: SPOILER WARNING: Why was it necessary for the two Borden's to alternate women? For mere amusement? Or was there something I missed?
Answer: They did not spend time with their loved ones, at least not the whole time: Sometimes Sarah would feel that "no, today you don't [love me.]" and once a Borden twin says to Olivia, after she kissed him, that "it feels wrong sometimes". Furthermore, there is a scene where Borden tells Fallon (his twin) that he should talk to Sarah after a struggle, indicating that this particular Borden is not Sarah's husband and this particular Fallon actually is. As to why the alternate: One theory is that they HAVE to alternate to minimize diverging life experiences, both on stage and off stage. They both have to live the life of the other so that none differs too much in order to not reveal these differences to outsiders. In the book however, they do not alternate between the women, but that is another story [literally].
Question: Why was that one guy walking around with a knife in his back? Were some of the other Necromongers that way too?
Answer: In the novelization they say that Irgun received the wound but because the knife was so near the spine it would require major surgery to remove it. He opted to leave it in.
Question: Now, I may be missing some big symbolic thing here, but what exactly did the tanks and the jets represent, or where they just mistakes or something?
Answer: There are many "current" images added in to convey an up-to-date parallel of what was happening. The planes & tanks were to show the power of the Roman government. Also the merchants sinning by selling in the temple are selling postcards, prostitution, drugs, & even machine guns in the movie. It was to give something modern for viewers to relate to. The guards carry guns as well as the roman spears of the time. The modern "anything goes" in the sexual area is clear in the modern version of Herod's escapades.
Answer: It is worth mentioning that those tanks were called "Centurions" - a clear reference to Roman army.
Question: What exactly happened to Dr. Lawrence in the end? He's crawled out of the room, sans foot and increasing amounts of blood, and Jigsaw makes his way out the same door less than a minute afterward.
Chosen answer: Saw 3D/Saw VII shows what happens to Dr Lawrence in the end. He burned his foot on the pipes to stop the bleeding and got out, but 3 days later Amanda came to the bathroom and killed Adam by putting plastic over his face.
Answer: It's unknown what happened to Lawrence until Saw 3D, where we see him crawl to a pipe and cauterise his wound to stop the bleeding, but passed out in the process. And Jigsaw arrives later, because remember he is in the bathroom with Adam and by the time Lawrence has cauterised his wound, Jigsaw has already woken up and left Adam behind in the bathroom and is on his way out, until finding an unconscious Gordon and would congratulate him on surviving his game.
Question: When the 'survivor' is brought into the lab, it appears to me to be a Mondoshewan arm holding a lever of some sort. The Mondoshewans themselves aren't the fifth element so I must be wrong. So what is it? Is it the arm of the statue seen at the start?
Answer: If you look at the statue / sarcophagus at the beginning (specifically when they are hovering it out of the tomb) you can see the hand of the 5th element is visible on the side of the statue / sarcophagus. That hand part matches what you see in the lab regen chamber. The 'lever' you see her holding is one of the handles of the case that originally held the stones (you can see the missing handle when Zorg gets the case from the mercs).
Question: What is the song played at the end of this episode?
Answer: The song is "I don't like Mondays", originally recorded by the Boomtown Rats. This version is sung by Tori Amos.
Chosen answer: Going by the armor and clothing from the child Selene's memories, as well as information from Selene herself, we can say that she was turned around the end of the 1300s and has been alive for about 650 years.
It has to be after 1402 because that is when RotL takes place and Viktor only spares Selene because she reminded him of Sonja.
Question: Samara just wanted to be heard and killed everyone who didn't make a copy to show to someone else. But say that someone showed another person the same copy they had seen. Would she still kill that person?
Answer: Yes, there are two rules in order to be spared: make a copy and have someone else watch the copy you made. The day after watching the tape, Rachel shows it to Noah. He asks her to make him a copy so he can do research about its origins which she does almost immediately. When she visits Becca at the psych ward and touches her hand, she tells her she has 4 days left (Becca had seen Samara the night Katie died thus was affected by her presence and could tell how much time Rachel had left as a result). At this point, Rachel had already made a copy, but was still very much in danger because no-one else had watched it. It is not until Aidan watches the copy she made that her life is finally spared. Samara wants everyone to know about her story, so it makes sense that she would want as many tapes out there as possible for people to watch.
Answer: Yes because Rachel watched the same copy as Katie, (her niece) and she received a phone call just like the others. She wasn't killed because she copied the tape before her 7 days were up. I don't think it makes any difference, as long as you see the tape.
Answer: No, as long as you show someone else the tape and they watch the entire thing, your life is spared. Whenever Rachel realises she made a copy, she is really just realizing she was spared because she showed the tape to someone else. Making a copy isn't a bad idea though, because if the original would somehow get destroyed, the viewer would be out of luck.
Question: In terms of days, weeks, months, etc., how long were Lorelai and Christopher married in season seven?
Chosen answer: Lorelai and Christopher get married impulsively in Paris but they get divorced shortly after returning home. I don't know the exact number of days or weeks but they definitely weren't married for more than a couple of months.
The One Where Ross Finds Out - S2-E7
Question: Did Rachel ever find out that Chandler was the one who told Ross that he's in love with her (The One Where Rachel Finds Out)? Wouldn't Ross want to know when/how she started liking him?
Answer: Season 2, Episode 7 "The One Where Ross Finds Out". Rachel gets drunk on a date and calls Ross - she leaves a message on his answering machine telling him she's "over him". Ross checks his messages in Rachel's apartment, while on his way to get a cat with Julie. He says "you're over me? When were you...under me?" and asks how she found out. Rachel tells him that Chandler told her, to which Ross replies, "when did he when did he, when did he...?"
Question: At the end of the movie, when Tom finds out that Meredith is on the boat, he wants to kill either her or Peter because they both believe different stories about him and might run into each other. Is there any reason why he chose to kill Peter?
Answer: After running into Meredith, Tom's plan was to stay in the cabin with Peter the entire trip to avoid them seeing one another. But after Tom makes that suggestion, Peter tells Tom that he seen him kissing Meredith. He couldn't avoid or kill her since Peter already saw her. Family members also saw Tom with Meredith. If Meredith suddenly vanished or was killed I'm quite sure there'd be an investigation. Peter was the only option. No one is on board to report Peter missing. Once the boat docks, Tom will be long gone before they discover Peters body. Unlike Meredith, her family would be looking for her immediately since they're traveling together. I'm quite sure he'd much rather have killed Meredith, she meant nothing to him.
Answer: Meredith was travelling with many other people and he can't kill all of them, so he has to kill Peter. Anthony Minghella discusses this in the audio commentary of the film.
Answer: I saw a lot of reviews saying killing Meredith would be harder because she traveled with a lot of people on the ship. Considering that Tom was able to figure out the old trick where he made Meredith to coincidentally meet up with Peter and Marge in a cafe, I'm pretty sure he could up with the same plot to tell Meredith to meet him somewhere around the corner of the ship too, say in the middle of the night to look at the moon etc. Peter beforehand can be exhausted due to consumption of alcohol or had steamy session of coitus so he could never find out that Peter went out to see Meredith. I don't know how the cruise ship of the 50s worked out at the time but there must be a range of dinner time where people go to a hall for their meals - therefore Tom could persuade Meredith to have some alone time at her cabin while the rest of her Cos were having dinner. Since Meredith was infatuated of him, anything what Tom could have said or planed something with her she would have agreed.
Question: During the poker game when Bond orders his martini, what does Felix Leiter mean when he comments "Bring me one as well, keep the fruit"?
Chosen answer: Bond first requested a dry martini but then invented the "Vesper", which included a thin slice of lemon peel. I believe Felix was asking to hold the lemon.

Chosen answer: He saw the truck Doug drove away from the bait camp in. It was parked on the street from where Doug parked it as he and Claire arrived. This was Orestadt's truck, so he knew somebody was on to him and on the ferry to stop him.
