Question: When Selving and Foster and Darcy were sitting on the top of that roof and Selving said, "I know a pioneer in gamma radiation." Do you think he was talking about Bruce Banner?

thor stark

Chosen answer: While no absolute confirmation exists within the film, it's hard to imagine that the description of a pioneer in gamma radiation who mysteriously disappears refers to anybody else.

Tailkinker

Chosen answer: The return of the Sith. In this case Phantom is refering to invisibility/unseen.

Question: Regarding Mad Eye Moody. 1: Why is he drinking a polyjuice potion in front of Harry in the classroom? 2: Why does it starts storming in the great hall when Mad Eye Moody enters? Does this has anything to do with it being the wrong Moody? 3: Was Barty Crouch killed by Moody? If yes, did Barty senior know it was his son?

Loesjuh1985

Chosen answer: 1. Because nobody knows it's polyjuice potion, and it's not suspicious at all for Mad-Eye Moody to drink from his own flask. 2. It's a storytelling technique called foreshadowing. So while, in the movie's world, the storm has nothing to do with this Moody being an impostor, within the context of the film as a storytelling medium it does. 3. Yes, Barty Sr. was killed by Barty Jr. Barty Sr. was breaking down mentally from spending so long under the Imperius Curse. In his brief moments of sanity, he was able to connect the dots and figure out that what his son was up to.

Question: What exactly was happening when Harry casted red sparks with his wand in the maze? All things just seemed to get more aggressive. Did Dumbledore say to Harry that he can use red sparks if he want to give up?

Loesjuh1985

Answer: Harry was not giving up. Harry saw that Fleur needed help, and cast red sparks to bring attention to her.

Chosen answer: In the book, the finalists were told to shoot off sparks out of their wands if they got lost or got into trouble in the maze - sort of a distress flare. As to why things get nasty at that moment, most likely it's because Mad Eye has rigged the maze to make sure that Harry wins and touches the cup first, which wouldn't happen if Harry had to give up.

Question: At first I thought that Jaws was chasing Bond throughout the movie, because he failed to kill him in the previous movie, The Spy Who Loved Me, but it turns out that he works for Drax now, whereas he first worked for Stromberg in TSWLM. As far as I know, Drax and Stromberg have nothing to do with each other, so is it purely a coincidence that Jaws now works for a new employer, which happens to be Bond's new target?

Answer: There's a scene where Drax is on the phone trying to hire someone to kill Bond. He says to the person on the other end "Well, of COURSE, if you can get HIM!" This is when he hires Jaws.

Captain Defenestrator

Show generally

Question: Why is it that Hurley's winning amount keeps on changing throughout the whole show? In one episode he says he won 114 million, in another he says he won 150, and another 164 million. Why does it always change?

kokoman

Chosen answer: He won 114 millions, but the other amounts he refers to ($150-$164 million) are how much he is worth after his investments, most likely.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Answer: Why would she? There was no motivation for her to do so.

Brad

Answer: I was wondering this too - surely on Rapunzel's first birthday Mother Gothel would have noticed the fuss the King and Queen made and decided to move it by a few weeks next time.

Question: Is there ever an explanation given as to why the Aliens visited Earth in the first place?

Answer: Yes. They weren't intending to visit Earth at all, but their ship became crippled somehow and they were all slowly dying. They made their way to Earth looking for help.

Phixius

Question: Why is Laddie wearing a Confederate soldier's jacket?

Answer: There's no particular reason. It's probably just something he found and liked.

raywest

Answer: That was in fashion in the USA, in the 80's.

Question: Why did it take Bella almost dying for a house full of thirsty vampires to realize that the vampire fetus would want to drink blood?

sunfox35

Chosen answer: It was the first time that a vampire ever got a human pregnant, and they didn't know what will happen.

Anastasios Anastasatos

It wasn't the first time a vampire impregnated a human, as shown by the half-human/half-vampire South American native that appears at the end. However, the Cullens knew nothing about his existence until that time, nor could they assume the fetus was fully vampire. They therefore had no idea how to treat Bella's pregnancy.

Question: Early on, Odin is shown telling very young Thor and Loki about the great Frost Giant battle held in Scandinavia, presumably before they were born. Yet the children's book and Erik's own childhood memories indicate that adult Thor and Loki were part of the legends that come from that region, and by implication, would date to that time (965 AD?). Is Thor old enough to remember visiting Earth hundreds of years ago, or not?

mbelvadi

Chosen answer: There was more than one battle against the Frost Giants. Thor and Loki may have been present for another one. Also, we're talking about mythology here. Stories often get mixed up and changed or combined.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: On Dagobah, when Luke goes into the cave he finds Darth Vader and kills him, his helmet explodes and turns out Darth Vader is Luke. How does this make any sense?

Chosen answer: Luke is seeing visions relating to possible futures. In this case, it's effectively a warning that, if he embraces the path of violence, which he has at this point by keeping his weapons with him when Yoda told him to leave them behind, then he risks falling to the Dark Side and becoming just as bad as Vader.

Tailkinker

Chosen answer: He doesn't know his own future. She might die or he might regenerate before he sees her again.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: In the beginning of "Thor", the battle between Odin's army and Laufey's army happened in Norway. In (Captain America) the Tesseract was found in Norway during World War II. Do you think there is a connection ?

thor stark

Chosen answer: The Tesseract is described in Captain America as being "the jewel of Odin's treasure room", so clearly it has significant links to the Asgardians, making it perfectly reasonable that it was located in Norway. Whether its presence there is directly linked to the battle in some way is unknown.

Question: When Kevin admits to having slept with no one at college, considering what Jess tells Vicky that if he said he slept with 3 he more likely slept with 1 or none will it be true what Stifler said about Vicky that if she said 1 it more likely to be 3?

sparky1690

Chosen answer: Yes. That's the point of the theory. Men multiply the number of women they've had sex with by 3, women divide the number by 3.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: How do One, Rain and Olivera end up in this one? All of them were very thoroughly killed off and the end of their respective movies. Are they clones as well, and if so, why doesn't Umbrella just use new guards?

Friso94

Chosen answer: Umbrella can produce their DNA's again and again. They use them because Alice acts mostly with her feelings and all these persons mean something to her.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Question: What happened to Chris and Claire Redfield? They aren't even mentioned in the film.

sunfox35

Chosen answer: They might bring them up in the next movie. Jill Vallentine was also lost for so many movies.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Chosen answer: It's stated in the film that Wesker had departed Umbrella and that the red queen has control now.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Question: In the openings scene, the prehuman drinks a tar-like fluid (like the one poisoning Halloway later on), while looking at a spaceship hovering above. He then dies, falls into the river and disintegrates. I do not understand this scene, is he the last of the surviving prehumans committing suicide and the ship above is the others leaving the planet?

Answer: The giant ship has landed on Earth to drop off the Engineer so that he can terraform the planet and make it sustainable for life. He might drinks the black stuff to break down his own structure and spread life on Earth through his own DNA.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Question: What makes Neo the Chosen One? Chosen by who or what? And what makes Morpheus and the Oracle so knowledgeable about the Chosen One?

Answer: 1) Neo is the One because of a systematic flaw in the Matrix's programming that accounts for the rare humans who don't accept the Matrix, as explained by the Architect in the second film. 2) The Oracle knows about the One because she was the one who discovered the flaw. 3) Morpheus knows about the One because the Oracle told him.
