Question: What I don't understand about this movie is, how did Dr. Satan get in this family's basement and are we supposed to believe that he did his brain surgery on the whole family which is why they are all so insane?

Question: Why didn't Timothy Dalton make any more Bond movies after this one?
Answer: Dalton was still contracted to play Bond in the next Bond film, Goldeneye. However, due to legal battles between MGM and EON productions, the film was delayed so long that Dalton simply lost interest and quit his role. He said afterwards in 2007 that, "I was supposed to make one more but it was cancelled because MGM and the film's producers got into a lawsuit which lasted for five years. After that, I didn't want to do it any more."
Question: When Bond goes back to Felix's house and discovers Della's dead body, what exactly happened to her after Felix was taken and before Bond discovered her?
Chosen answer: She is found shot dead on the bed. It is also probable that Sanchez's men, lead by Dario, raped her - this is hinted at strongly when Dario says that he and his men will "give her a second honeymoon." However, this is left very vague, and nothing certain is ever said on the subject.
Question: While the De Winters are watching their honeymoon photos, the girl says "I suppose that's why you married me, because you knew I was dull and gauche and inexperienced, and there would never be any gossip about me." Maxim stops the film and, looking like death, says "Gossip! What do you mean?" She says "I don't know. Don't look at me like that. What's the matter? What have I said?" Maxim says "It wasn't a very attractive thing to say, was it?" She says "No. It was rude, hateful." Now, why did she say that? And why did Maxim say what he said? All she said was "There won't be any gossip about me." What's the problem with that?
Chosen answer: Maxim was previously married (unhappily) to Rebecca, who died tragically and under rather mysterious (and suspicious) circumstances, sparking rumors. Maxim thinks his new wife is referring to that, but she knows nothing about it and was only making an innocent remark, unaware of the rumors. The "rude, hateful" part probably refers to the "dull and gauche and inexperienced" comment - she probably thinks that is what caused his reaction, rather than the "gossip" comment, given she doesn't know the rumors. She is very young and naive and feels inadequate as the wife of a wealthy man. Maxim is older, intimidating her somewhat, and she was confused by his angry outburst.
Question: Draco tells Harry and Ron, when they are disguised as Crabbe and Goyle, that his father wouldn't tell him who opened the Chamber of Secrets. Why wouldn't his father want him to know?
Answer: He knows Draco wouldn't be able to resist boasting about it and would mock Harry and Ron about it. His involvement might then find its way back to Dumbledore or someone in the Ministry who'd take it seriously, would discover that Voldemort is on the verge of coming back, and that the Death Eaters are gathering to him again before they're ready.
Question: When M comes out to tell Moneypenny off for the errors in the paperwork she did, and discovers that she authorised a search for Bond, is he angry with her for doing it or does he sympathise with her? I know it's a stupid question, but I've never been able to work it out.
Chosen answer: It's meant to be a bit of both - he is angry she is failing her professional duties but is also worried on a personal front for Bond too. This is also seen earlier at Hemingway House, when Bond resigns and escapes. Although previously M has told Bond plainly to quit his vendetta with Sanchez, when Bond escapes, M says "God help you, 007" - ie. at the same time he sympathies with Bond. So basically he is angry on the surface, but he too is also sympathetic with Moneypenny.
Question: What does Jenny die of? And is it mentioned anywhere in the film at all?
Answer: It's not specified in the film, but in the sequel book "Gump & Co" the author mentions that Jenny dies from Hepatitis C as a former drug addict in the early 70s. Hepatitis C was an unknown disease until 1989.
Answer: In 1981, when Forrest meets Jenny again, she says she has a virus that doctors don't know. This virus was the HIV virus, as 1981 marks the AIDS outbreak in the World.
Answer: It could have been HIV or Hepatitis C or something else. Maybe someone related to the story or even Winston Groom himself told this at some other place. Nonetheless, it's false that it appears in that book.
It absolutely appears in the second book, 'Gump and Company'.
Question: If Truly Scrumptious' father is 'Lord Scrumptious', then as his daughter, why isn't she 'Lady Scrumptious?'. If I remember correctly, she is referred to as 'Miss Scrumptious'.
Chosen answer: By rules of courtesy titles in the United Kingdom, Truly Scrumptious would inherit no title. Her parents being Lord and Lady Scrumptious, she would be simply Miss Truly Scrumptious. However, if her father were a baron, she would be called "The Honorable Miss Truly Scrumptious." Were her father an earl, duke or marquess, she would THEN be the "Lady Truly Scrumptious." But again, children of a lord and lady do not receive a title. When the lord dies, his oldest son inherits his father's title of lord. If there are no boys, it might pass to the eldest daughter. In this case, only upon her father's death would Truly become "Lady Truly Scrumptious."

Question: What song is playing when Chris is being paddled by the students?
Answer: "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Alice Cooper; this scene directly mirrors a scene from "Dazed and Confused", music and all.
Question: After Pippin touches the Palantir and he is lying on the ground, is he dead then brought to life by Gandalf? I was under the impression he was dead at first because he is lying with his eyes open then Gandalf closes his eyes with his hand. Why is he lying with his eyes open? Why does Gandalf put his hand over his eyes?
Question: Why would the clones receive brains? Why not just leave them in a coma-like state? If you would replace the owner's brain, then the owner wouldn't be the same person, even if you'd rewrite it. You could say that you could replace part of the brain only, but even in that case, the clones could be kept in a drug-induced coma.
Answer: Merrick explains (albeit briefly) that the clones needed "human emotion...life" or the organs failed.
Question: Why aren't Rosalie and Jasper surnamed Cullen? I can't understand why they are Hale and not Cullen.
Answer: Rosalie refuses to give up her human last name - per Stephenie Meyer. She holds on to as much of her past life as she can. Since she and Jasper look enough alike, they pose as brother and sister, therefore Jasper takes the name Hale. They do this to try to fit in with humans - making the story whatever humans will easily believe - the less they have to explain the better. They also take the name Hale to avoid there being confusion or at worst perception of incest with the couples having the same last names, it would raise even more questions about something that's already frowned upon.
Question: True or False: once a missile has been fired at you it's locked on to hit you and no way that banking hard would evade an incoming missile, unless you use countermeasures of flare and or chaff?
Chosen answer: False. Missiles are fast, but they are not as agile as most fighter jets. One of the problems the first Sidewinder missiles encountered was that the target planes could simply out turn them (which is explained as the purpose of Top Gun in the movie). Missiles have gotten better, but so have the planes. In close quarter combat, like shown in this movie, fighters could potentially turn away from a missile.
Answer: To clarify, there are different types of missiles with different types of seekers. IR (infrared), also known as heat seeking - these are used in close range and track the target aircraft's heat from its engine. To defeat this, the targeted aircraft would use a combination of maneuver and flare (designed to be a hotter heat signature than the engine). SAR (semi active radar) - medium range, where the firing aircraft uses its own radar to lock the missile onto the target. Once the missile has enough tracking fidelity of its own, it takes over its own guidance and the firing aircraft can maneuver away from the target. To defeat, the targeted aircraft uses a combination of maneuver and chaff (metal particles designed to trick the incoming missile into thinking that is the airplane). AR (active radar) - medium to long range, the missile uses its own radar system to track, acquire, and seek. It's defeated the same as SAR missiles.
Question: Is there any reason why Luke believes what Darth Vader says when he tells him that he is his father?
Answer: The vision Luke sees in the cave on Dagobah is a clue to this. Luke is realizing he has a lot more in common with Darth Vader than the idealized father he'd always imagined. When Vader tells him he's his father, Luke doesn't want to believe it, but he simply can't deny that it feels much more true that his father would be someone passionate and reckless like himself rather than someone who exemplifies a noble Jedi, which feels like an obvious myth in hindsight.
Question: The trivia section states that this film was originally given an R rating for "a single sound effect." Anybody have any idea what that sound effect was?
Answer: The sound effect that was not included in the movie was the sound of Lucius Hunt being stabbed by Noah. Once this sound effect was removed, the movie was allowed to be rated PG-13.
Question: During the scene where the soldiers are running away from the fighting or "the Mogadishu mile" there is a soldier carrying a SAW who appears in many of the shots during this scene, but never throughout the rest of the movie. He is seen at the lead of the group just before and when they emerge from the fog and are greeted by the African children. He appears to be too tall and broad shouldered to be Twombly or Waddell. Who is this soldier?
Answer: This soldier is Dale "Adonis" Sizemore, played by British actor Matthew Marsden. It was documented that he grabbed a SAW to enter the battle with Struecker's column of Humvees when they made their 2nd trip into the battle of Mogadishu. He was shown in several other scenes of the movie - he was the soldier who cut off his cast.
Question: Why does Alex die before Clear? Wasn't she supposed to be next after Carter? I mean, Alex was supposed to die first but Carter intervened making death repeat the cycle according to the path of the explosion which included Carter dying first, then Clear second and finally Alex. Why didn't this happen?
Chosen answer: His death happened between movies. We don't know how many times they intervened with each other before he finally was killed.
Answer: In the movie clear tells the others she and Alex saved each other countless times, however if you pause the movie and enlarge the scenes where it's flashing all the news paper articles it tells you that Alex was killed by a falling brick. I do believe Alex pushed clear out of the way of the brick.
Answer: Death works backwards now in this movie.
Question: When the Fat Lady portrait is found shredded (by Sirius) there is a baby crying. In the scene you can see a youngish girl holding a crying baby, off to the left in the screen. Why is there a baby at Hogwarts?

Chosen answer: Dr. Satan wasn't in their basement. As you watch the movie, they walked quite a ways to this well structure where they put two of the captives in this box and lowered them down. It was quite a way from their house. When the girl comes up from the dirt, there house is nowhere in sight.
