Continuity mistake: Between the shots of Marge floating out of the house and later when Petunia runs to Vernon on the grass, there are many significant changes. The short brick walls that edge the Dursley garden are actually different bricks, different grout and are even aligned differently between these shots. The bushes along the wood fence are at least 2-3 ft away from the corner bricks in the first shots, but in the last shot are aligned with the corner. The height of those bushes go from being way above the top of the wood fence to being at least a foot below. In the first shots there are small metal plaques that are attached along the top of the wood fence, but in the last shot they are gone. (00:05:30)

Continuity mistake: The colours on the dial of the freezer Frank goes in changes between shots. When Lucy turns it down you can see the colours are light and dark blue. Later on in the wider shots and when she tries to open the door and Milton Dammers stops her, you can see it's blue and red.

Continuity mistake: When Quint goes below deck to get the machete, with the intent to cut the barrel lines, the machete he takes is shiny and clean, with no rust or pit marks at all. Yet, when Quint holds it over his head and then embeds it into the side of the boat, the entire blade is rusty and full of pit marks. (01:44:40)

Continuity mistake: Quint remarks, "Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him." In the shot of Orca's stern, just prior to this comment, the two attached yellow barrels are very worn, with many black marks all over. Yet, in the shot right after, both yellow barrels are almost entirely yellow - quick paint job. Throughout the Orca scenes the marks on all the barrels change many times in consecutive shots. Continuity mistake: After Ajax's death, when Agamemnon shouts, "Forward!" as they charge, Agamemnon's two horses have very distinctive white markings on their faces. Then when Agamemnon and Odysseus (on the same chariot) retreat, after the cheering of Trojan royalty, in the close-up as Odysseus shouts, "Back to the ships!" the white markings are entirely different, and now both horses are actually wearing blinkers on their bridles to cover their eyes. Continuity mistake: Aboard the Jolly Roger, in the very next shot after Smee jumps overboard, Peter twirls his sword in mid-air and catches the hilt. This is not the same sword he uses in the previous or following shots. This sword doesn't have the gold hand guard, so as to be able to catch it easily. The hilt on Peter's sword is in the shape of a leaf and the hand guard is the leaf stem. (01:24:50)

Continuity mistake: At Hagrid's, when Harry, Ron and Hermione are there the first time in the film, there is a large birdcage, blue cup and saucer, watering can and small wood planter (with seedlings) on the windowsill. Later, when Hermione throws the first stone, as the stone flies through the window the watering can and blue cup's positions differ and the wood planter and large birdcage are gone. When she throws the second stone they are back on the windowsill. (01:24:05 - 01:52:20)

Continuity mistake: At the snake exhibit, while Harry speaks with the Python the snake's body lies curled over a long wood log and a large rock. In the shot from outside the Python's exhibit, after the glass pane disappears Dudley falls over the rail and the snake is gone, not positioned differently or blocked from view, but altogether gone. In the next overhead shot inside the Python's exhibit, while Dudley falls the snake is back lying on the log and rock, in the very same position as in the previous shots. (00:07:10)

Visible crew/equipment: Petunia and Dudley enter the house when they return from the zoo, followed by Vernon and Harry. The crew's equipment is plainly visible on the ground beyond the doorway. Also, the pavement at the threshold extends far beyond the doorway and just before Vernon walks into the house, Vernon is visibly coming from the side of the doorway. In the earlier exterior shot when they stand by the car before they leave, as Vernon says, "I'm warning you now boy...," not only is the ground at the doorway completely different, there is a garden surrounded by white bricks beside the door, making it impossible for Vernon to have been standing there. Visible crew/equipment: Machete shows the mini spy plane to Carmen and Juni, and when he says, "It's built for one passenger..." visible in the plane's window, standing beside Carmen, there is a perfect reflection of a crew member holding the large white reflector screen, just out of camera shot. Continuity mistake: At her house, Patricia runs away from the ghost and when she first enters the kitchen the countertops beside the sinks are completely bare. However, a few shots later there are neat stacks of china on the countertops, ready to fly off in the mayhem! (00:01:45)

Continuity mistake: When Pippin steals the palantir, Gandalf's right hand grasps the sword below the hilt's cross-guard in all of the close-ups. However, in the wide shots Gandalf's hand grasps the grip of the sword above the hilt's cross-guard. The bed sheets differ between the shots as well. (00:20:00)

Continuity mistake: When Haldir says, "Welcome Legolas, son of Thranduil," the outfit that Legolas wears is not the same in these shots than in the previous and following shots. Gimli's hair/beard are not as full and his prosthetics are a bit different too. Apparently this scene was one of the first to be filmed, but they realized later that this outfit wasn't working for the role of Legolas, so they changed it. Commentary on extended DVD. (00:45:30)

Trivia: Many of the Riders of Rohan appearing with Éomer when they meet Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas, are accomplished horse women in beards. The crew knew that the set was a true traveling circus, when they actually sat down to lunch surrounded by bearded ladies. Appendices DVD.

Continuity mistake: Victor and agent Matthews rush back stage at the pageant and are stopped by the Pageant Matron. There is a monitor next to Victor and it shows Miss Rhode Island twirling her batons without flames, and also as soon as Vic calls Matthews 'muffin', in the background we see Cheryl raising her flameless baton on stage in the background. Yet in the previous and following shots the batons have flames. (01:27:10)

Continuity mistake: When Harry is in Lupin's office, as the Professor says, "I resigned..." his cane leans against the corner of the trunk beside the doorway. Yet when Harry says, "But Dumbledore..." the cane hangs off the center of the trunk. As Harry says, "None of it made any difference," the cane is gone, but when Lupin says, "You helped uncover the truth," the cane hangs again. Then when Lupin says, "If I am proud of anything..." the cane leans against the corner, but wait, when Lupin leaves the office the cane hangs off the trunk once again. (02:06:10)

Visible crew/equipment: When Gregorio slams on his brakes the car stops alongside the sidewalk, in front of the private school. In the next shot he calls out, "Juni, Juni!" as Juni stands by the open car door. First, a large boom mic and the reflector screen are wonderfully reflected in the car window, before he closes the door. Then when Juni closes the door, a car is reflected on the door, though it is impossible for it to be there since a gate, which is visible in the following shots, stands at the edge of the sidewalk on the car's left side. Some crew members, one of which is behind camera equipment and another holds the boom mic pole, are also reflected in Gregorio's door on the left. Then as Juni walks away, the boom mic moves back and forth in the reflection near Gregorio's face to pick up the actors' audio. (00:11:05)

Continuity mistake: The wagon, which is full of explosives, is on fire, so Mulan cuts Kahn (the horse) free with her sword and jumps onto Khan. She starts to ride away, while she holds the reins in her left hand and the sword with her right hand, up in the air. The wagon explodes and in the next shot, she still holds the reins in her left hand, though the sword, still in midair in her right hand, is now actually in its sheath, which is always attached to the left side of her belt. Some arrows are missing on the ground as well. Then her sheathed sword lands on the ground beside her. (00:53:45)

Visible crew/equipment: Being chased by the flying keys, as Harry zips by on the broomstick he tosses the key, Hermione catches it and runs to the door. In the next shot, a close-up, as she tries to unlock the door, an electrical cable hangs down beside the column, that was not in the previous shots. There is also an electrical cable coming out from under the back of Hermione's sweater that is blatantly visible as well. (01:59:55)
