Genesis - Part 1 - S1-E1

Corrected entry: Jim Shannon is up on the fence surrounding Terra Nova, cutting vines with a machete in his left hand. A mega-millipede is approaching from the right: Jim is startled and falls off the fence. But surprise, there's no sign of any machete anywhere around him. Safety first.

Correction: The fence constructed at an angle (i.e. slanting away from inside the compound). Knowing that he is about to fall Jim pushed himself away from the fence to fall clear of the fence, dropping the machete at the same time. It must have fallen through the fence. Like you said, safety came into Jim's mind knowing to fall clear of the machete and the fence.

Resistance - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: When Casey Durwin deliberately stalls his motorized wheelchair in front of the Phoenix Group convoy (so Jim Shannon can slip into the last vehicle), his chair's position keeps changing. From the front angle, the chair is directly centered in the middle of where the truck is. When seen from Malcolm's view on the side, Durwin's chair is now partially clear of the truck's front end, then it's back in the middle.

Question: Is there any reason they have to go to that particular time to start their colony? Why not say 64 million years ago? Since it's after the dinosaurs, but before the evolution of sabertooths and mammoths? It'd be a lot safer.

Chosen answer: Because that's where the rift led. They don't have a time-travel machine, capable of taking them wherever they please - all they have is a hole in time leading to one single time period.
