Continuity mistake: During the outdoor scene from Manny's surprise party, Phil is chomping away on corn on the cob like a madman. When he gets up, he wipes his mouth with his napkin while leaving some corn on his face. Claire jumps up and tells Phil that "they have a gardener", and the corn is still there. Continuity mistake: When Jay is sitting in the patrol cart with his partner eating ice-cream, the amount of the partner's ice-cream that has melted keeps changing from shot to shot. Sometimes the ice-cream has melted a little bit, sometimes it has melted over his fingers, sometimes it hasn't melted at all. Jay's ice-cream also changes just as often, but is not as obvious. Continuity mistake: In the scene after Luke tips the contents from the box onto the table, when he puts the box upright after tipping it, there is a white hose hanging over the edge. But in the shot when the box is visible again, the hose is on the table. After that when you see the box again, the white hose is once again hanging on the box, but in a different position than it was originally. (00:08:40)

Continuity mistake: While trying to take a new Family Portrait, after Cameron, Mitchell, and Lily shake out their faces, say cheese and take another photo, Cameron goes to look at the laptop screen and there's a closeup of that newest photo, but when he tells Mitchell to look at the screen it's a different photo - note Lily's goofy eyes, etc.
Continuity mistake: Pepper states in this episode that he doesn't have any kids, but in 4-14 "A Slight at the Opera" he talks about a son he has who is a Navy Seal.
Continuity mistake: Whilst Clare and her new 'best friend' are talking to the flight attendant, the two glasses change from empty to full in the next shot.
Continuity mistake: When Alex opens the door for Sanjay she is wearing red headphones around her neck, in the shot after that the headphones are gone. Two shots later, they reapear. (00:11:10)

Continuity mistake: In "Great Expectations" (1-8) Claire and Phil say that they had their first kiss in Claire's car. In this episode Phil buys the swing set where they had their first kiss.
Continuity mistake: Mitch and Cam are eating breakfast and Cam only fills Mitch's wine glass. As the camera view goes back and forth a few times it keeps switching to show Cam's glass full then empty and so on. (00:08:30 - 00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: In episode 8-20: All Things Being Equal, while Lily is going to a feminist protest with Claire, Gloria, Haley, and Alex, Alex said something like 'The women burnt their bras', and Lily says 'Not me, I just got my first bra'. But in this episode Lily steals a bra because she's embarrassed to ask Mitchell and Cam to buy one for her.
Continuity mistake: You see Phil take the coffee mug from the roof of the car and then he goes inside the car. A few seconds later it's back on top, then a few seconds after that it's gone again. (00:15:30)
Continuity mistake: When Cam is talking to Lily, the doorknob looks like it's loose, and in the next shot it is fixed. (00:19:49)
Continuity mistake: Mitchell puts a sandwich down close to Cam on the kitchen island whilst talking to him. The sandwich then moves closer to Mitchell and a plastic food container is now moved to the other side near Cam instantaneously. (00:14:00)
Chosen answer: There was a plain wall at the foot of the stairs in the pilot episode. Thereafter, there is a room, but we have never been shown what's in the room.
