Continuity mistake: When Rogue walks in on Brother Reinhardt attempting to kill Gambit, she goes from being gloveless to wearing blue gloves depending on the shot. (00:08:20)
Continuity mistake: When Rogue is attempting to rescue Gambit from the avalanche, Gambit's right hand goes from being gloveless to gloved. There is even a point when she is pulling him out of the snow that a glove instantaneously materializes on his hand and then disappears just as quickly. (00:05:20)
Continuity mistake: Gambit is gloveless when he is lying in the snow. When he falls downhill, he is suddenly wearing gloves. (00:04:35)
Answer: Chris Potter, the original Gambit voice actor, did indeed quit the role in the 4th season. His last episode was The Phalanx Covenant Part 1 so it seems reasonable that Fox would limit the use of the character even though it was recast. It doesn't appear that Potter left the role due to animosity, he stated in an interview that he wished to play Gambit in the first live action X-Men film.
