Battlestar Galactica

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When the Vipers come to Galactica's rescue, an interior shot shows a pilot hitting the 'Turbo' button. The next exterior shot shows two Vipers pulling upward as we hear the familiar sound of the Turbos- but no white exhaust is emitted by these two Vipers as normally seen when Turbo is used. Seconds later in the same shot, the sound is heard again as two more Vipers turn right, but they do display the white exhaust effect. (02:07:40)

The Long Patrol - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: Starbuck and Cassiopeia stand looking out the window. In the wide shot, her back is to his front, his arms around her waist. In the close-up shot, they are suddenly face-to-face, her hand toying with the trim on his cloak. (00:05:15)

The Long Patrol - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: When Apollo asks Adama if he was ever like Boxey, Adama replies "Worse". The two characters are standing well apart, each leaning forward with both hands on a railing, shown from the front. When the shot changes to show them from behind, Adama has his arm around Apollo, hand on his shoulder. (00:03:45)

Fire in Space - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: Sheba is wearing her Pegasus helmet when her viper launches. But most of the in-flight shots show her wearing a Galactica helmet (and a few with the Pegasus version). (00:03:50 - 00:05:40)

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In the second shot showing the fleet of Battlestars (from the port side and slightly behind), the closest ship has a blank nameplate on the front of the landing bay where all the ships normally have their names displayed. In the next shot, a close-up shows this plate now says, "Atlantia". (00:02:45)

The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: After the Colonial assault force parachutes into the Cylon city and Boomer says, "Shouldn't take too much to blow 'em sky high," they race off to the left - and Apollo's sky diving helmet disappears from one shot to the next as they run.

The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: When Baltar sees the Pegasus, it is approaching with her bow toward Baltar's port side. The next exterior shot shows Baltar's ship heading with its bow toward Pegasus' starboard side, as if Baltar's ship reversed, letting Pegasus pass in front, then went forward again and veered sharply right to avoid collision. The Long Patrol - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: In "Saga of a Star World", it's established that the Cylons are entirely robotic. Their creators, a reptilian race also known as Cylons, were made extinct by their robots millennia ago. Yet, when Omega reports that life signs have been detected, Apollo asks "Cylons?". Apollo is the character that previously explained their history, so he knows Cylons aren't life forms. (00:06:55)

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: While driving the Land Ram, looking for a Tylium deposit, and Apollo says "We can't stay in one place for too long", Boxey's arm goes from leaning on Apollo's shoulder to not leaning on his shoulder between the shots. (01:20:10)

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When the Celestra's joystick is hit by laser fire, it tips to the right and the ship lurches off course. An exterior shot shows the landing bay is pitch dark. When the ship is forced back on course, the next exterior shot shows the bay is very well lit. (00:44:10)

Battlestar Galactica mistake picture

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: The exterior shots of Commander Kronus' shuttle show that all its side windows are transparent, like all Galactica shuttles. But the interior views show that its second starboard-side window is actually an opaque gray panel, not transparent as seen from outside. This is because the exterior shot is of a Galactica shuttle (no model was built to represent Kronus' shuttle). Also note the impossibly high interior ceiling at the very front, compared to the exterior shape. (00:29:40)

The Hand of God - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: As Galactica attacks a Cylon base star, she is shown banking to port with the base star off her starboard bow. Seconds later, the base star is to port and Galactica is banking to starboard, yet no course change has occured. (00:11:30)

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: The shuttle belonging to Commander Kronus is described as being a non-military version, differently equipped than are the Galactica shuttles. But an exterior shot shows the shuttle to be 'GAL 356' yet again, which is the most-often-used Galactica shuttle. (00:28:15)

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When Apollo changes course, he pulls the joystick back and the shuttle seems to 'pull up' in the inside shot, but the next exterior shot shows the ship is turning to starboard, not rising. (00:34:25)

The Lost Warrior - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: In a wide shot, Apollo is inspecting an air rifle. As the wide shot ends, he holds the rifle wrapped by both hands. When the close-up shot starts, the gun is on its side, held by his right hand while his left is removing the air cartridge. (00:11:40)

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When Aurora and her companion are picking up the guns from the closet, you can see the closet contains two racks with several guns on them. At first they empty the upper rack of guns. When it cuts they empty the lower rack, but then the guns suddenly have reappeared in the upper rack. (00:13:30)

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Baltar turns to face the two setting suns, we see the lower one at the left has what could be a boat in its reflection on the water. The higher one on the right is over a mountainous area on the horizon. The next shot is of Baltar in close-up, then the next returns to the horizon to show us Baltar's view, which shows just ONE setting sun. The one on the left has vanished though there is room enough for it to have been seen in this shot. (00:40:15)

Commander Adama: Mr. President, a wall of unidentified craft is closing in on the fleet.
Baltar: Possibly a Cylon welcoming commitee.
Commander Adama: Sir, may I suggest we launch a 'welcoming commitee' of our own?

Trivia: Episode 18 - "Baltar's Escape": This is likely a mistake, but it's a self-excusing one that, if intentional, was a nice bit of inspired continuity. In "The Man with Nine Lives", a Colonial Warrior, played by an actor not seen previously, is guarding new recruits that are confined in their quarters awaiting security clearance. He not only freely gives out classified information, but is eventually overpowered by two phony recruits and locked in a supply closet. Then, in "Baltar's Escape", the same actor appears as a member of the Council of 12's security team. It's likely the film makers thought no one would recognize him, but given the disdain that Colonial warriors have for the Council's security people, it is fitting to see this failed Warrior reassigned to the Council - a nice touch, even if not intentional.
