Character mistake: The woman in the store claims that the umlaut on the shoe size indicates a half size in Europe. This is wrong because the European shoe size system (used in Germany among others) is completely different from the US system. Carrie's 6 1/2 shoes would be a size 39 according to the European system.

Plot hole: In this episode Arthur scams Deacon and several other parents for phony piano lessons because he doesn't actually know how to play the piano. However, earlier in the series (Art House episode, S1 - E24) we learn that Arthur can play the piano when he temporarily moves out and after his house warming party Doug says to Carrie, "Who knew Arthur could play the piano like that?"
Doug Heffernan: Hey, Deac, let me ask you, do you think Carrie's gained weight?
Deacon Palmer: Say what?
Doug Heffernan: Carrie, my wife, do you think she's gained a little weight, a couple pounds, maybe?
Deacon Palmer: I don't know. Every time I see her she's blocked by you.
Trivia: Kevin James, who plays lead character Doug, and Gary Valentine, who plays his cousin Danny, are in fact real life brothers, with Gary being over 4 yrs older.
