Corrected entry: The closing theme song throughout Series 3 of Auf Weidershen Pet was "Why Aye Man" by Mark Knopfler (of "Dire Straits" fame). For added "authenticity", backing vocals on this track were sung by Jimmy Nail (Oz) and Tim Healy (Dennis). However, the lyrics of the song refer to the storyline of series One and NOT to series three...

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1983)
1 corrected entry in season 3
Starring: Timothy Spall, Jimmy Nail, Tim Healy, Kevin Whately
Plot hole: In the first series, Bomber mentions 'City's my team', referring to Bristol City, and dislikes the other Bristol based football club (Rovers). If this is the case, why is he wearing the distictive blue-and-white quartered shirt of Bristol Rovers in series 4? I know that people change allegiances, but it's very unlikely.
Neville Hope: Erm... I'll have to ask Brenda.
Trivia: The "Dusseldorf building site" that features extensively throughout the first series was not in Dusseldorf at all. It was not even in Germany. A replica of a German building site was constructed on the back lot at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire. When filming of the first series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet was completed in early 1984, the site was levelled and it became Albert Square, Walford, London, E20 - the home of the Soap Opera "EastEnders" to this day.

Correction: This should not be considered a mistake because only the chorus is sung. Many closing theme songs have very little to do with the show.
