Continuity mistake: In this episode, a main story line revolves around Steve and Kelly's supposed first and only sexual encounter, at the beach club while they were in high school. Sorry, but the early episodes made it clear that they slept together many times while dating, and The First Time was in Steve's room while his mother was being interviewed downstairs.
Continuity mistake: Taz (lead singer of group Donna and David are producing a music video for) recognizes Kelly from her 'Seventeen' magazine cover and mentions it was in spring (May) 1994; however that was still the gang's freshman year in college (Season 4) and Kelly did not do the Seventeen shoot until season 5, and the magazine cover was out in the spring of 1995.
Continuity mistake: When Steve is talking to Valerie, after getting out of the shower, about Coming Home early to surprise Claire, you can see shaving cream on his ears. When the shot changes to a side view of him sitting on the bed, he no longer has the shaving cream on his ears. When the shot changes back to looking at him head on, the shaving cream is back on his ears. This goes on for the entire scene.
Continuity mistake: When Brandon talks to Jim at the bar in Hong Kong, Brandon's arm moves instantly from resting on the tabletop to holding his beer glass. (00:30:35)

Continuity mistake: When Rusty leaves the CUTV news room, he has his backpack slung over his shoulder. In the following shot, he picks the bag up off the table and slings it over his shoulder again. (00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: When Donna talks to David about their childhood, Donna's hand moves from stirring her drink to resting on her arm between shots. (00:04:15)
Answer: The students were told by the faculty that anyone found to be intoxicated at the Senior Prom would not be allowed to participate in graduation activities. Donna had a little too much champagne at Mel's house and in the limo and got drunk. At the Prom she spent most of the time in the bathroom, being sick. As the gang tried to discreetly usher her to the car, Donna fell and Mrs. Teasly questioned her and realized that she was drunk. "Donna Martin graduates" is what her classmates chanted after a walk-out on their final exams, in protest to the fact that the board was meeting inside to make the final decision of Donna's fate. Big surprise: Donna Martin graduated.
