Continuity mistake: Prior to bringing Ray up for the role-playing exercise, the parenting teacher erases a circled phrase from the chalkboard. Throughout the scene, the chalked circle flips several several times between being totally erased and having a faint outline left over.
Continuity mistake: The large spoon and fork in Frank and Marie's kitchen change positions, right to left, and up and down. In some episodes the fork is on the right, and in others it is on the left. In other episodes, the fork is higher or lower than the spoon. At other times, the spoon and fork seem to be larger than at other times. It is obvious when she removes one of the utensils that they have never been moved - the wallpaper underneath is a different shade from fading. If these were moved at subsequent times in the supposed feud, the difference in wallpaper fading would be seen.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Debra tells Ray her parents have separated and he laughs, later on in this scene he tells Debra that he got free candy from the broken vending machine at work. When Debra leaves the room, Ray starts taking more candies out his pockets and throwing them on the bed. Take notice of the position of the sweets on the bed. Now just after the close up scene of Ray scratching his head, look at the position of the sweets. Totally different. One or two are actually closer to the end of the bed, whereas in the scene before, they were more further on.
Continuity mistake: Marie comes over with a cake shaped like a cross. In almost all the scenes where the family is sitting at the table different pieces of cake are missing. In some of the camera angles there are no pieces of cake cut from the bottom yet when the cake is seen from other angles there are.
Deliberate mistake: In this episode, Ray tells Amy's mother that Debra no longer reads his column, although she did when they were dating "and she was wooing me." But in an earlier episode, Ray proposed to Debra in his very first column - so when they were dating, he didn't have a column.
Factual error: When Ray cuts in front of a woman at the ATM, she runs to get a cop. She comes back with Robert. The problem is, Robert is a New York City cop, and Ray lives in Nassau County, which is not in New York City. Robert has no jurisdiction, and would not be patrolling in Nassau County.
Factual error: It's Thanksgiving and Ray and Frank want to watch football. Ray's mother changes the channel to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. But these programs are not on at the same time. The parade always ends at about noon. The first game starts at about 1:00 and the second game starts at about 4:00.
Factual error: Robert's voyeuristic neighbors are using the same elevator as Robert does and tease him about seeing him and Amy through his bedroom window. But if they were able to see into his bedroom, they would not be using that elevator; it would be in another building. From the outside shot of his apartment building, it would be impossible to look into his bedroom.
Factual error: Robert begins as a SGT in the NYPD (later promoted to LT). However, he has issued speeding tickets in his brother's/parent's neighborhood. The family Barone lives in Lynbrook NY. Lynbrook is part of Nassau County, Long Island, which is not part of NYC. Robert would have no jurisdiction to issue speeding tickets there.
Continuity mistake: Ray offers to rub Debra's feet instead of doing another chore. He takes her black socks off and throws them on the floor, under the table. The socks can be seen for a few shots, in the same spot, after Robert comes in. At one point, however, one of Debra's black socks can be seen on the couch in the middle, and in the next shot, the sock has been removed.
Visible crew/equipment: Robert pushes Ray into accepting his offer to go on a citizen's ride-along. They are initially sitting on the couch at the time, and when they rise, if you look closely behind where Ray is standing, through one of the kitchen windows you can spot a production crew member.
Continuity mistake: In the last scene where everybody is in Ray's living room, the strap on Georgia Engel's purse keeps changing positions from hanging from her left shoulder to across her chest. Finally, when both her hands are occupied trying to light a match, her purse slips from her shoulder to her bent elbow. In the next shot, her hands are still not free, but the purse strap is on her shoulder again.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the ceremony, Kevin is seen between Robert and Bernie and is all spiffy but when Debra is walking up the aisle with Warren, you see Kevin looking normal with a tux behind Lois and, then, a moment later, he is all spiffy again between Robert and Bernie.
Continuity mistake: During his discipline fiasco Ray sends the twins, Michael and Geoffrey, to their beds at noon. Depending on the camera angle, one twin (who lies closest to the camera) has his head atop his pillow at the middle of the bed, and in other shots that pillow is much further back near the headboard and the boy's head lies on the blanket.

Factual error: Robert, as a police officer in NY State, is bound by law to carry his weapon at all times. Robert is never seen with a firearm, not even when in uniform. A police officer would not have his sole sidearm strapped to his calf or ankle under his pant leg, making it hard to access in a situation where he would need to be able to draw it at a moment's notice.
Continuity mistake: After their engagement in 2-25 "The Wedding", Debra introduces Ray to her priest Fr Hubley but in this flashback episode "The First Time" Marie brings Fr Hubley to Debra's apartment to meet her. The priest mentions that "he's known the Barones for quite some time."
Other mistake: When Amy runs out of the basement wearing Robert's pants, the pants are at full length, with the belt under her arms and the bottom of the pant legs at her ankles. When she is standing next to Robert, though, it is clear that he would have to pull the pants all the way up to his ribs for the legs to be the right length on him. Also, the pants are unzipped and the zipper pull is hanging just below Amy's breasts. Since a pants zipper is usually just an inch or so above the crotch, Amy would not be able to pull the pants that high unless there was a 12" drop between the zipper and the crotch of the pants.
Revealing mistake: Marie acts like she is reading from Raymond's diary, however from the angle that she's holding it, it's obvious that there's no writing on the page except for a standard header on every page. Raymond also doesn't write anything when she asks him to amend the entry.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene where the three Barone kids are singing along to the Hackidu song with Robert on the couch, the scene opens with a picture of the house from the outside, and it is light and not raining at all. Then, when Ray comes in minutes later, it is suddenly dark and pouring rain.
Factual error: Ray, Gianni, Robert and Frank are watching a football game when Ray gets the call from Newsday to cover the Friday press conference for the Super Bowl that weekend. There is a 2 week break between the AFC/NFC championship games and the Super Bowl, so there would be no NFL game on TV at the time. There would also be no NFL game on during the afternoon on a weekday.
