My motherboard, my self - S4-E8
Corrected entry: When Carrie takes her laptop to be repaired, the supposed expert says that "Ctrl Alt Delete," only works on PCs and it's therefore implied that it didn't work because this is a laptop. This of course is totally incorrect; Ctrl Alt Delete is a Windows function and therefore works on anything which has Windows, regardless of it being a PC or laptop.
Corrected entry: When the girls are trying on bad wedding dresses; they come out of the dressing rooms on the count of 3, meaning they haven't seen each other's dresses yet. But then Carrie has her panic attack, and Miranda tries to help undo the back of her dress. Miranda mentions that there are 'a million buttons back here' making it difficult to get the dress off quickly. Since Miranda didn't see the dress until it was already on Carrie, how did Carrie manage to button all those tiny buttons all the way up the back of her dress to her neck? It would be extremely difficult for her to reach around and do that herself. (00:09:20)
Correction: Normally, when women try on wedding dresses, the dress shop has attendants/employees that assist with buttons, zippers, trains, veils, and the like. It would not be unheard of for an (unseen on camera) attendant to have buttoned Carrie's gown while she was in the dressing room.
Corrected entry: When Samantha and Richard are on his jet, they start to 'get busy'. The pilot interrupts them, explaining that they need to fasten their seat belts for take-off. Richard answers him by saying what sounds like "Thanks, Roy". But then immediately Samantha also replies "Sure, Duane". Apparently the actors are uncertain as to the pilot's real name. (00:21:30)
Correction: Richard says 'Thanks, Dwight' and Samantha says 'Sure, Dwight'. His name is Dwight - not Roy or Duane. It's very clear.
My motherboard, my self - S4-E8
Corrected entry: When Carrie and Aiden are waiting at the Techserve store, Dmitri (the Tech Guy) calls out Carrie's number as 'Number 64'. He says this twice. But after Carrie and Aiden are finished talking with Dmitri, he calls out 'Number 78' for the next customer in line. He says this number twice as well. Why would he go from 64 to 78? (00:04:50 - 00:06:25)
Correction: There are multiple computer techs at Techserv. During the time Dimitri is helping Carrie, waiting customers numbered 65 through 77 would have been called by the other technicians. There could be an overhead digital counter that each technician would look at before calling out the next available number.
Corrected entry: After Carrie drinks 1 1/2 martinis in Julian's office, she gets extremely drunk. He has to help her walk out of the office, and she is staggering and falling into things. This doesn't seem logical, as Carrie goes out frequently and drinks all the time. Even in the daytime sometimes. She is used to drinking a great deal more than 1 1/2 martinis, and doesn't usually get nearly that drunk. For someone who drinks a considerable amount of alcohol as a normal part of her life, it seems implausible that she would suddenly get stumbling drunk after only one and a half martinis, no matter how strong they are. And it's doubtful Julian would have made them too strong, being during the morning in a major magazine office environment.
Correction: Carrie hadn't had any breakfast, and she's a size 2. Nothing implausible about it.
Corrected entry: When Samantha decides to go proposition the Farmer next door, Carrie asks her, "What are you up to, Sam Jone?" Only she says, 'Jone' singular, not 'Jones' plural as it's supposed to be. (00:15:05)
Correction: She actually says 'Sammy Jo'.
Ghost town - S4-E5
Corrected entry: When Charlotte, Trey, and Bunny are shopping for a new bed, Trey and Bunny lay down on the bed with a large space between them. But when Charlotte comes to lay on the bed, there is no space between Trey and Bunny at all.
Correction: Trey is scooting closer to his mother as he is laying down. Then it cuts to Charlotte, then when it cuts back to Trey and Bunny, the are laying right next to each other with no space. Then Charlotte comes and lays down. There is plenty of time during the cut to Charlotte for Trey to have finished moving and be right next to Bunny.
Corrected entry: In the previous episode when Steve told Miranda about the opening of Scout, he was still involved with his girlfriend Jessica. Not only was Jessica with Steve when he offered the invitation to attend the opening, but she made a big point of saying 'We'd love to have you come' meaning she and Steve were still a couple. Yet later in that episode when Miranda shows up at the Scout opening, Jessica is nowhere to be found. Not only that, but Steve leads Miranda over to the bar to 'get drunk' meaning he wanted to spend some time with her. So what happened to his girlfriend Jessica? She was just with him a few days before that. Also in this episode, when Miranda and Steve went out on the double date with Aiden and Carrie; Steve was single at this point and tried to kiss Miranda on the way home. There was never any explanation or plot concerning what happened to Steve's previous girlfriend Jessica; and it seems illogical that they would have broken up in the short time between when he invited Miranda to the bar, and the actual opening night of Scout.
Correction: Why is it illogical that they broke up? Couples break up all the time.
Because it is not likely they would have broken up in that exact period of time, just a few days before the restaurant opening. It's implausible, and obviously a plot contrivance.
Corrected entry: Miranda and Steve are sitting on Miranda's sofa eating Chinese food and discussing Steve's cancer surgery. There's a close-up shot of Steve, who is wearing eyeglasses. The shot cuts to a close-up of Miranda and then back to Steve, who is now not wearing any glasses. He is not holding them, nor are they on the coffee table.
Correction: He is holding his glasses. You can see them as he gets the last spring roll.
Corrected entry: When Aiden punches the hole through the wall of Carrie's bedroom, we can see that her entire bed is carefully covered in cloth and plastic. But despite that much preparation, the empty book shelves are still attached to the same wall, and her bed is still pushed up against it. If they were thorough enough to completely cover the bed, then why not remove everything from the wall? It doesn't make sense that the shelves and bed would still be on the wall that Aiden is trying to demolish. (00:12:55)
Correction: Carrie has been having a hard time coming to terms with the renovation the whole time. One would assume that not moving the bed or shelves would be one way Aiden could accomplish the demolition without totally upending Carrie's apartment and making her even more apprehensive about the construction project.
Corrected entry: After Samantha and Richard go 'skinny dipping', they start dancing in robes by the pool. Samantha is still wearing what look like expensive dangling diamond earrings, and has obviously just swam in chlorinated water with them on. Samantha is known for her expensive taste in clothing and accessories; so even if her earrings are not actual diamonds, they are probably still very expensive, good quality jewelry. It seems illogical that she would risk damaging expensive earrings, wearing them while swimming. Even if she forgot to take them off before getting in the pool; they are very long dangling earrings, and she would have certainly noticed pretty quickly that she had them on. (00:24:25)
Correction: It's pretty safe to say that during her midnight swim with Richard, the very last thing on Samantha's mind was her earrings. If anything, being that she's Samantha, she probably thought "Oh well, I'll just buy a new pair."
Corrected entry: When Carrie spots the Manolo Blahnik black Mary Jane shoes in the Vogue Accessory Closet, there is a close-up of the shoes sitting on the shelf. In the previous episode, it was established that Carrie wears size 7 1/2 in shoes (when she was shopping with Miranda). But when we see the Mary Janes on the shelf, and when Carrie holds them in her hands; they appear to be much larger than size 7 1/2. They look about size 8-10. Yet when Carrie tries them on; she mentions that they 'almost fit', and seems to be having trouble squeezing her feet into them. The implication is that the shoes are actually too tight for her, a smaller size than what she actually wears. Yet instead of looking smaller than size 7 1/2, the shoes are apparently much larger. (00:25:25)
Correction: Different shoes fit differently depending on the person. First of all, it is impossible to tell a shoe's size based on camera angle or how it appears on a television screen. Secondly, it's possible they "almost fit" due to being too narrow, not having an adjustable strap, or many other reasons, rather than the assumption that they would be too big.
Corrected entry: When Miranda offers to take Carrie to a bad Bridal shop, it sounds like she says, "I'll treat you to a 'Tasty Lite'". But when Carrie answers her, she says, "You're gonna have to do a lot better than 'Tasty Delite'". Later in this episode when the girls are talking at the restaurant, Carrie again refers to the place as 'Tasty Delite' which is apparently the real name. Cynthia Nixon must have gotten her lines slightly wrong, calling it 'Tasty Lite'. (00:07:30 - 00:11:35)
Correction: Miranda definitely says "Tasti D-Lite," which is the correct name of the chain. She simply says it very quickly, as New Yorkers often do.
What's sex got to do with it? - S4-E4
Corrected entry: During this episode, Trey refers twice to a certain portion of his anatomy as his 'John Thomas'. Interestingly enough, John Thomas is also the Director of Photography for 'Sex and the city'. Is this really just a coincidence? (00:07:45 - 00:19:25)
Correction: Given that 'John Thomas' is a common nickname for male genitals and that Mr. Thomas was also DP for episodes where they didn't use the term, yes, it's probably just a coincidence.
Corrected entry: At the end when Carrie and Aidan are lying in bed, she is watching her snow globe and the glitter inside is moving around. That is impossible to happen without it being shaken up first. The swirling snow globe is meant to be significant but it's still a mistake.
Correction: I just saw this episode. And when Carrie is laying in bed with Aiden looking at the swirling snow globe, I had the distinct impression she was staring at it because she had probably just hopped out of bed to shake it up. Aiden was probably asleep, and she being hyper probably just was happy and decided to shake it up so she could look at it. This is part of the symbolism of why she was staring at it, since she had just stirred things up again both with the snow globe, and with her relationship with Aiden.
Corrected entry: After Charlotte gives Carrie her engagement ring for the down payment on her co-op, wouldn't Carrie still have to qualify for a mortgage loan? It would have made more sense if she had asked one of her more well-to-do friends to co-sign the loan for her. It wouldn't cost them anything (unless Carrie defaulted, of course) and it would explain how she managed to buy a New York co-op with $1600 worth of assets.
Correction: The assumption here, is that Charlotte is giving Carrie a ring that is worth around $30,000 for her down payment. Not $1600. (It's a VERY large diamond, Trey was exceedingly wealthy). It would still be difficult to sell, but in NYC it's possible Carrie would get a high selling price from the right jeweler. Carrie had to either buy (meaning at least come up with a down payment) or vacate her apartment within 30 days. Since she is now able to afford the $30,000 down payment (the necessary amount was shown on Big's check); than we could reasonably assume Carrie would then qualify for the rest. All she has to do now, is make monthly payments that are probably not much more than her current rent was.
I heart ny - S4-E18
Corrected entry: At Brady's birth Steve counts to five fingers, five toes and two balls. He wouldn't be able to tell: boy babies are born with their testicles still inside their body.
Correction: He was probably saying it tongue-in-cheek. Not entirely seriously. Because Steve only has one ball, (and he sees this as a fault and a really big deal) he's pleased that his son, Brady is 'normal'.
Corrected entry: Where did Carrie get Aidan's e-mail address? He certainly didn't give it to her.
Correction: Carrie was dating Aidan for almost a year; he could have given it to her, even though she herself didn't have an email address. He, also, has a business. She could have looked up his business on the internet and got his email there.
I heart ny - S4-E18
Corrected entry: Mr Big said he would leave for California at 5 pm. Carrie runs into Samantha at the hospital just after Samantha spied on her lover during lunch. After that, Carrie immediately leaves the hospital to see Mr. Big but he's gone already. That would be a VERY long lunch Samantha had.
Correction: He most likely meant his plane leaves at 5 pm. And knowing security in airports these days, he might've left home at least 3 hours earlier to make sure he got there on time.
I heart ny - S4-E18
Corrected entry: In Episode 66 "I heart ny", Miranda gives Carrie a cell phone in order to have her on call when she goes to the hospital to deliver her baby. When the phone rings, Carrie tells Big that she never had one and does not know how to use it. However, in Episode 20 "The man, the myth, the viagra", she receives a call from Miranda and whips out her cell phone from her purse to receive it.
Correction: It's because her laptop is a Mac. PC is a generic "IBM compatible" term which covers both desktops and laptops.
