However, US government employees in the UK performing official duties drive right-hand drive vehicles because UK law requires driving on the left, meaning the steering wheel must be on the right side of the car for safety and aligning with local traffic rules and vehicle configurations. Suggested correction: There is no law saying all vehicles have to be right-hand drive on British roads - if this was the case all vehicles from mainland Europe would be forbidden on UK roads (they are all left-hand drive as they drive on the right on the continent). The US government would likely prefer to use right-hand drive cars for safety reasons though.
