Trivia: Ross Marquand, who voices Professor X, previously portrayed Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Cedric Smith, who voiced Professor X in the original animated series, also voiced Red Skull in one of the series' final episodes.
Trivia: Series creator Beau DeMayo was fired by Disney only days before its Disney+ premiere. DeMayo alleges that he was stripped of writing credits for season two after putting an LGBTQ pride post on his social media. Disney responded by saying he was fired for egregious misconduct. Despite his firing, DeMayo regularly interacted with fans on X (formerly Twitter) regarding plot details following the release of each episode of season one.
Trivia: Several actors from the original series are returning to voice different characters. Chris Potter, who voiced Gambit, will now be voicing Cable, while original Cable actor, Lawrence Bayne, will be voicing X-Cutioner. Catherine Disher, who voiced Jean Grey, will be voicing Valerie Cooper. Ron Rubin, who voiced Morph, will be voicing President Kelly. Alyson Court, who voiced Jubilee, will be voicing Abcissa, who is an older and digital replica of Jubilee.
Trivia: A.J. LoCascio is taking over the role of Gambit from Chris Potter. He said he initially didn't know he was going to be recording for a revival of the original animated series, rather he thought it was going to be for a video game. LoCascio grew up a huge fan of Gambit. He even took French classes in school because of it, and referred to himself in those classes as "Remy" (Gambit's real name). Potter claims he wasn't even asked to voice Gambit again, presumably because of his death in episode 5.
Trivia: Jennifer Hale is taking over the role of Jean Grey from Catherine Disher. Hale previously voiced Jean Grey in Wolverine and the X-Men. She also previously voiced Felicia Hardy/Black Cat and Julia Carpenter/Spider Woman in the 90's Spider-Man and Iron Man animated series, respectively, which take place in the same continuity as this show.
Trivia: Cedric Smith is the only living main cast member from the original animated series to not return for a role in this series. Catherine Disher, who voices Valerie Cooper in this series and voiced Jean Grey in the original series, and who also used to be married to Smith, doesn't believe Marvel even approached him about returning for this series, as he is now in his 80s and is retired.
Trivia: Ahead of its premiere, it was announced that Morph, who was created for the original animated series, would be non-binary. This led to backlash from some fans, claiming that the show was going "woke." Eric and Julia Lewald, who created the original series, pushed back against these fans, asking if they had learned nothing from the show and the comics that inspired it, as it was always an allegory for civil rights and highlighted people who were different from the norm and dealt with bigotry.
Trivia: Alyson Court, who voiced Jubilee in the original series, opted not to voice Jubilee again so that an Asian voice actress could take over the part, who was later revealed to be Holly Chou.
