Goin' to the Chapel - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: When Father Bryce "suits up" for the exorcism, there's a stylish series of shots where we see him putting on his glasses from three different angles. Except he's looking in a slightly different direction in the last one, revealing it was different takes.

Continuity mistake: During the standoff, when Dr. Mixter says "Do we have a deal?", right before the credits, Lexy is breathing VERY heavily in the background. But when it cuts to a closer shot of her, she's no longer breathing that heavily.

Continuity mistake: When Jake gets angry and slams Good Chucky into the wall after he says "I didn't mean to do it!" at the beginning of the episode, in the first shot Jake is holding Chucky a few feet from the wall. In the next shot he's only a few inches from the wall.

Goin' to the Chapel - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: When Father Bryce explodes, and it's shown from multiple angles over and over, the way his head flies into the air is different in some of the shots. In some of the shots, it flies straight up several feet into the air, while in other shots, it only shoots about one foot into the air and also shoots forward slightly, revealing multiple different takes were edited together.

Goin' to the Chapel - S2-E7

Trivia: SPOILERS: In season two, episode seven, when Father Bryce explodes and it is shown over and over from a multitude of angles, it is a direct homage to the 1978 film "The Fury." At the end of that film, a character explodes in a similar fashion, being shown over and over again from different angles. Series creator Don Mancini has discussed how much he enjoys "The Fury" in the past, and has thrown in some subtle references to it in the "Chucky" franchise.

Answer: They were blamed for the death of Jake's foster brother, which was deemed a terrible accident, and they were sent to the reform school as a punishment. Presumably, when they had to leave the reform school given what happened, they were instead given community service as punishment.
