WandaVision

Previously On - S1-E8

Factual error: Wanda's father opens his briefcase of DVDs and one of them is Malcolm in the Middle. But the bomb that killed him fell in 1999, and Malcolm in the Middle didn't start airing until 2000.

Now in Color - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: Vision is speaking with the doctor after the visit to a 4-months pregnant Wanda, When he asks him to be discreet because he wants to keep the news in the family, he has his hands on his hips. The doc answers "Mum is the word!" and Vision's hands are clasped together, and they switch back and forth again as the camera angles alternate. (00:04:05)

Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Wanda and the nosy neighbour are in the living room going through the preparations for 'some' special occasion. During their conversation, the position of Agnes' hands on the magazine changes (she is holding a page with her left or not) and same for Wanda's hands on the notepad (look at the cut when Wanda says "Just out of curiosity, what does it say?"). All-New Halloween Spooktacular! - S1-E6

Trivia: When Pietro says he'll help the twins maximise their candy acquisition, one twin says "Kick-ass!" and Wanda repeats to herself "kick-ass." She sounds almost confused, but might merely be disapproving of the language, either way this is either a nod to, or who knows, maybe even may connect in-universe to the fact that both Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Evan Peters, who plays Pietro in WandaVision and the recent X-Men films, both starred in Kick-Ass.

On a Very Special Episode... - S1-E5

Question: The intro sequence for this episode seems most closely based on Growing Pains, with a dash of Family Ties, but the painting being coloured in really reminds me of something else, I assume another TV show, but can't place it. Any inspiration?

Jon Sandys Premium member

Chosen answer: The living painting is taken straight from the Family Ties intro.

Ah, that makes sense - I first saw this one on Youtube, which at a guess was the first season or an early version? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPRdtO6UKD0. But yeah, this is exactly right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip1szfz9nZ8.

Answer: I noticed that too and although I can't think of any sitcom starting like that it does remind me strongly of Bob Ross "The Joy of Painting" intro, which was from the 80's as well.
