Audio problem: When the tryout team is heading back home led by the Nankatsu trio, their lines (even in the original Japanese version) do not match the mouth movement at all (Misaki's is animated to open randomly, and Tsubasa's moves too frequently). (00:20:40)
Continuity mistake: Hyuga loses his baseball cap early during the dribbling, but it's back at his feet when he's standing savouring his triumph over Genzo in the box. (00:15:50 - 00:18:30)
Revealing mistake: When the assistant coach blows the whistle to start the tryout match, coach Shiroyama blinks back into existence next to him during the same shot a second later. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: Genzo picks up his injury falling with other 3 players. Forgetting the clumsy fall not fitting someone of his caliber in an easy catch, they fall at the wrong angle, wrong position/distance from the goal, and in the close-up, the offender 's foot stomps Genzo's ankle almost perpendicularly from above, but it's an angle of impact incompatible with their fall. Continuity mistake: One of the players maimed by Hyuga holds his bleeding wound. In the next shot, there's no blood or tear on the sock anymore. (00:08:55)
Continuity mistake: When Ishizaki is dribbling his friends who act as living posts, the one with the big unitooth and unibrow is wearing brown shorts in the first shot, then yells at him while wearing black ones. Less than a minute later Ishizaki gets angry because he can't take a break, and the same guy is sporting blue shorts. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: The first time we see the Shuutetsu trio in action, Teppei Kisugi shoots at goal. The ball's POV shows it is headed towards the left side of the goal, but then in the next shot the goal is scored to the right of the keeper. (00:03:40)
Continuity mistake: The kids who were not picked in the tryouts are standing in front of the trio that was selected. One of the kids, the one on the far right, has in some shots a maroon shirt, in the side view maroon shorts. In the shot when they are all grinning at Ishizaki, one with a celeste shirt has suddenly red hair. (00:01:35 - 00:03:00)

Continuity mistake: Ryo's mother arrives at the stadium and greets Teacher Maruyama. She sits down, and Maruyama's tracksuit lost the blue stripes on the shoulders, wrongly colored beige like the rest of the suit. (00:06:45)
Continuity mistake: A person next to Yayoi at the beginning of the episode is wearing big shades and a visor. The visor has some unintelligible characters in red at first, then in another shot the word "Godzilla" in black. (00:02:30)
Character mistake: At the tryouts, Tsubasa's teacher approaches coach Shiroyama chatting with surprise about the fact that he is in charge of the new team. But the episode opened with her exactly addressing him as the coach of that team. (00:04:40 - 00:19:45)
Continuity mistake: When Roberto is talking with the Ozoras before a horde of little busybodies invades the kitchen, Kodai Ozora has his pipe in the mouth or in hand between shots. (00:16:30)
Continuity mistake: When Genzo flips through the magazines, the cover is colored wrong in the first shot, with the cover photo filled in pink even if they went through the trouble of drawing it. In other shots it is properly colored. (00:11:20)
Other mistake: The Nankatsu teacher just announced the tryouts, and everyone responded positively asking for more training. Before Sanae starts her choir, the teacher is exactly the same height as the 10 year old students, contrary to the rest. (00:09:30)
