Stupidity: Eleven could have looked for Hopper and found out that he isn't dead.

Suggested correction: Assuming someone is dead is different from knowing someone is dead. What Joyce saw, there is no reason to think he is alive, so there is no reason to look for him. Also, Eleven has lost her powers during the biggest part of this season.
