Question: Towards the end of this episode the squad car has to double park so Regan can use a phone box, as Regan gets out of the car a van has to drive round the squad car and the driver sounds the horn, Regan gesticulates and shouts "up yours" at the van driver. I wonder if this was scripted or was a random moment and John Thaw was ad-libbing?

Continuity mistake: Leah and Shannon are in the computer room - Mr Malachy comes in and talks to Leah, Leah's hair is loose. The angle changes when Malachy leaves the room and Leah's hair is now neatly tucked behind her ear.

Continuity mistake: As the yellow ford Granada crashes and rolls over you can see it has been fitted with a roll cage that wasn't there before and is gone when the car comes to a halt.

Continuity mistake: Just after the yellow ford Granada has crashed after the last robbery, Frank gets out of the other getaway car and goes to look at the occupants, the front passenger door has opened by itself. It was closed when the car came to rest after rolling over.

Continuity mistake: Carter is in the betting shop watching Albert Milligan, when Milligan goes out of the shop you can see through the doorway a red Fiat coupé parked outside the shop which is still there when Carter leaves the shop, but when the scene changes to outside the shop the red Fiat is parked outside the shop next door.

Continuity mistake: At the retirement party when the carriage clock is first seen on the table it is showing the time as 10.10 but when it is being presented to the officer the time on the clock is now 10.05.

Continuity mistake: The bus stops, and the hitmen are behind it in the blue Volvo estate; a white car stops behind the Volvo. When Regan and Bianca get off the bus there are no cars behind the blue Volvo, the angle changes and the white car is back, and the hitman shouts out of the passenger window for the driver of the white car to back off. Continuity mistake: When Regan and Bianca first jump on the bus to escape the hitmen you can see through the windows that there are only six people on the lower deck, but when the scene changes to inside the bus all the seats are full. (01:00:24)
