King of the Hill (1997)

Question: Towards the end when George is at the bridge looking to jump in to kill himself it's snowing. However, after Clarence shows him what the world would have been like without him, he runs back to the bridge and it is not snowing. George is then begging Clarence to let him live again, and just like that it starts snowing just as it was when George was looking to jump in and kill himself. What did George's life have to do with changing the weather?

DrLoomis1978

Answer: It's just a cinematography thing. It's snowing in the real world, the weather is clear in the alternate world. When the snow resumes, it shows us that he's returned to his real life.

Brian Katcher

Very good answer.

DrLoomis1978

I agree, a good answer.

Answer: Most likely it had nothing to do with it. This is probably a plot inconsistency.

Scrooge Gets an Oscar - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: Watch the scene when Oscar opens his mini garbage pail gift. You'll see it's completely free of the inside tissue wrapping. In the next shot when he goes to open the lid, there's a piece stuck between the lid and the base that was not there before. (00:20:40)

The Twilight Zone (1959)

The Fear - S5-E35

Other mistake: As Trooper Franklin is shining his light on the side of the car showing the fingerprints, notice the front passenger's door. The key hole and the black painted rim of it is not covered by the fingerprint, or paint as it turns out to be. But regardless, it's not covered. (00:14:15)

Continuity mistake: When Butch is talking to Dawn in his room, he puts on his headphones and begins talking to some unknown being and seems to be in a trance. His head is resting flat on his pillow as he grabs Dawn's arm. Just after she pulls away, Butch's hand is in the position as if he was still holding her. However his head is now resting up on the headboard. He couldn't have propped himself up with his hand in that position, especially in the matter of a few seconds. (00:40:40)

Family Guy (1999)

The Unkindest Cut - S16-E19

Other mistake: The guys all go water skiing, towing the boat behind Peter's car. After Quagmire gets his penis bitten off the scene cuts to the hospital parking lot. Quagmire's car is parked next to Peter's. There would be no reason to go home and get his car instead of going directly to the hospital. (00:07:15)

DrLoomis1978

Plot hole: When Mr. Loren introduces his wife to everyone, he tells her, "You know Watson Pritchard of course." That can't be because at the beginning of the movie the characters are asking if any of them know Frederick Loren. No one personally knows him including Watson Pritchard. He says, "I don't know him, all the details about renting the house were done by mail." If that's the case, it's impossible for Annabelle to know Pritchard since Frederick invited all the guests without his wife's approval. (00:34:05)

DrLoomis1978

Question: Adding to similar questions, how is it that neither Annabelle or Dr. Trent are not surprised Trent was invited by Frederick? They would have to know Frederick is aware of their plan to kill him. Why do they go through the whole movie as if this isn't a problem? (01:11:40)

DrLoomis1978

Answer: They didn't know for sure he knew, if he did know, Annabelle thought she knew all of Vincent's tricks to out smart him.

Revealing mistake: As soon as Ben fires the first shot from the rifle you can plainly see it's a fake. Not so much from the look of it, but by the fact that there's no kick back whatsoever. The bullets you see him loading it with look big enough to give a pretty good blast. Even a .22 caliber would have more kick than what he's using. His rifle shoots like a BB gun. (00:45:35 - 01:28:30)

DrLoomis1978

Character mistake: After Ben tells his story about his first encounter with the ghouls, Barbara begins her story. She talks about the ghoul Johnny was joking about. She tells Ben that she wanted to apologize. She states, "I said good evening, and he grabbed me." If you go back to that original scene, you'll never hear her say "Good evening." (00:29:40)

DrLoomis1978

Other mistake: Once Dr. Trent enters the bedroom where Mrs. Loren is lying down "dead", they begin talking. Trent says "At first I couldn't get Nora to protect herself with a gun." There is no scene in the movie where he tries to convince her to use the gun, Lance is responsible for that. (01:02:25)

Suggested correction: After Annabelle Loren is found hanging under suspicious circumstances, both Lance Schroeder and David Trent advise all the other guests to stay in their rooms with their guns and shoot any intruders.

Charles Austin Miller

Just before he leaves for the meeting, Lance tells Nora, "If you have to, you use it." Nora was not at the meeting to hear what was said, so ultimately, it was Lance who got Nora to protect herself with the gun.

DrLoomis1978

There's an important mistake in your version of Dr. Trent's quote. What Trent actually says is, "At first I couldn't get Nora to want to protect herself with a gun." He's not saying that he personally advised her to protect herself; he's saying that he, through his various scary tricks, had failed to scare Nora into arming herself. Trent's immediate next lines are: "But after you appeared at the window, everything began to work just as we planned. You were wonderful, just the touch that finally drove her into complete hysteria." We know that David Trent and Annabelle Loren were behind a number of staged scares (such as the witch in the basement, the attack on Lance, Annabelle's hanging, etc) intended to push Nora toward hysteria, setting her up, of course, to kill Mr. Loren "by accident," thereby committing the perfect crime.

Out For Justice (1991)

Factual error: Towards the end of the movie Ritchie visits Chas the Chair. Chas tells one of his guys to wire a police scanner in the GNX parked in the garage. As we see the car once Richie's in it, it's very easily noticeable that it's not a Buick GNX, it's the regular Buick Grand National. The badges are on the fenders where the fender louvers should be on a GNX, the hood has the 3.8 SFI Turbo, among other differences. Trust me, I've owned one and have driven many.

Family Guy (1999)

The Unkindest Cut - S16-E19

Plot hole: When Stewie and Brian are at the diner Stewie says he negotiated a deal with the mob by telling them he convinced Mort to give him his flash drive with the info to put the mobsters in prison. When they actually meet, Stewie tells the mob guys the flash drive is "his" and that he bought the coverage. Then he says his address is on the drive so they can mail it back to him. The mob guys didn't realise Stewie lied about whose flash drive it really was. (00:15:40 - 00:19:00)

Tremors 2 (1996)

Factual error: After Grady and Earl wreck their truck, Burt, Earl and Grady have a radio conversation. At one point Grady interrupts Burt's transmission cutting off his voice, but making it appear Burt can hear him. It's not possible to interrupt a transmission while the other person is also transmitting even though they're using repeaters which is why Burt's voice was cut off in mid sentence. The only way you can transmit and receive at the same time is if you're using full duplex. Burt's voice was cut off, therefore they are not using full duplex.

Tremors 2 (1996)

Continuity mistake: When Grady and Earl wreck their truck, Earl picks up the radio mic to call anyone at their base site. He is talking into the back of the mic in two shots, then correctly in the next shot.

Sleepy Hollow (2013)

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Throughout the episode Lieutenant Abbie Mills' lapel mic changes from scene to scene. It goes from the Motorola Commander Speaker Mic to a standard Motorola mic without the orange emergency button, volume control, 16 channel selector knob and 2 programmable buttons.
