The Sixth Sense (1999)

Question: Why does the female ghost in Cole's house keep on opening the drawers and cupboards?

LazyBoy09

Chosen answer: She lived in the house and is repeating actions she took so many times during her life, as if trying to relive it.

Brenda Elzin

Answer: Traditionally, ghosts that are angry will do things like open all the cupboards just to try and be noticed, or to mess with people. And maybe she is looking for food that is not there because her husband is a terrible man who does not give her money to buy food, but always gets mad because she has not made dinner, so she is always looking for food in the cupboards.

Wall-E (2008)

Question: Where on North America does Wall-e live? I can only tell from the shot of Earth zooming in that it is somewhere around the Virginia or North Carolina region.

Answer: We are never told for sure, but the city resembles the Manhattan island of New York City.

Twilight (2008)

Question: Before going to play baseball, Edward says that there's a thunderstorm coming and that's the only time they can play, I heard Bella saying "I see why you need the thunder" but I don't quite understand why that is?

Answer: The Cullens, as vampires, possess extraordinary physical power -- so when they play baseball, the sounds generated when striking the balls are extreme and need to be covered by the thunder (or blamed on thunder, should anyone hear them hitting the balls).

Signs (2002)

Chosen answer: Yes, they were intended as coordinates for the aliens to land and begin their invasion. Merrill comments on this while engrossed in the television coverage of the invasion.

Wall-E (2008)

Question: I can't help noticing that in every scene on Earth the terrain is bathed in brilliant sunlight yet the entire planet is meant to be permanently covered in thick (presumably toxic) clouds. Is this at all possible?

Answer: Earth is meant to be uninhabitable -- not necessarily due to "thick ... clouds". Earth's environment is inhospitable to humans in many ways, including trash and air quality and presumably water quality. No specific mention of "thick clouds."

General questions

I saw this movie what seems like a long time ago, but I don't know how long. I don't remember it well at all, but I can remember little bits. There was a bus that sank in a river or lake. There was a character who had baseball cards taken away by the principal of the school. At the very end of the movie, the main character is grown up and looking at the grave of his friend that died. Any help?

Answer: It could be "Simon Birch".

Twilight (2008)

Answer: Not these vampires. They are predators but their teeth are considered "normal", as these stories have been written.

Brenda Elzin

Yes that is correct.

The Lion King (1994)

Question: We're only told about two males in the pride, Mufasa and Scar. Who was Nala's father? It can't be Mufasa because then she and Simba would either be siblings or half-siblings and they wouldn't have got together. And it can't be Scar because she called him by his name, not Dad, and she and Simba would still have been cousins.

Answer: Lions are not like humans, even though Disney tends to make them that way. It's rare for more than one or two full grown lions to be in a pride. Other males are in "bachelor prides" until they win a pride of their own. It's likely that Scar or Mufasa sired Nala.

Brenda Elzin

Answer: It is possible that Nala is older than Simba and her mother was pregnant when a male, Mufasa, took over and she avoided getting killed. She could be the daughter of the previous male that Mufasa conquered as he opened the Pride Lands for him and his brother. Then, Simba was born a little while after Nala.

Happy Feet (2006)

Question: At the very end of the movie what does Ramon say to the camera? This occurs in the "closing circle frame" that closes out the movie, just before the credits start rolling.

Answer: The only "closing circle frame" with Ramon is at the very end of the movie, AFTER the credits are through. At that point, he says 'Gracias'.

Brenda Elzin

The submitter is talking about before the credits and after the last word of the last song, the camera zooms in to Mumble, Gloria, and Ramon. He is slightly behind them but he "mouths" something. It's unclear what.
