Corrected entry: In the US version, page 485, Slughorn tells Harry that he has "a house-elf taste every bottle after what happened to your poor friend Rupert". Slughorn should have said "poor friend Ron", not Rupert. One assumes this is a reference to Rupert Grint, who plays the character Ron in the movies.

marfbody

Correction: If you notice, Slughorn calls Ron a different name earlier in the book as well, so this is not J. K. Rowling's mistake, but a character mistake, highlighting Slughorn's lack of care for Ron. But the assumption (that it is a reference to Rupert Grint) is plausible.

Corrected entry: When the Atlanta news van is outside Violet's house, the call letters of the TV station begin with the letter K. Atlanta's stations (and all stations east of the Mississippi River) start with the letter W.

marfbody

Correction: True, in general. But: 1) The rule about W/K assignments for radio and TV stations was abandoned for a little while in 1923, when every new station was given a KD call, including KDKA in Pittsburgh (which is still operating). 2) In addition to this, KYW-TV in Philadelphia is another station east of Mississippi that has a K callsign. 3) Seeing how big a media attraction a Golden Ticket winner is, it is not unlikely that reporters and TV crews would travel a bit to get live footage of one of them.

It Takes Two (1988)

Corrected entry: Diane & Amanda start out the movie with New York accents during the street baseball game. These disappear after the game, never to be heard again.

marfbody

Correction: Amanda was most likely accentuating her "New York accent" because she was on the streets playing with all her friends. You can still hear a trace of it in the rest of the movie. Diane never had a New York accent.

Twisted (2004)

Corrected entry: If the primary investigator on a case became a suspect, that person would no longer be on the case. Jessica is identified as a prime suspect in the murders, and logically, should have been pulled off the investigation.

marfbody

Correction: The mistake is not a plot hole - just not likely. The film addressed the fact that she should have been pulled from the case - but the chief has reasons to keep her on (he raised her and assumed she was the least likely to discover the truth that he was the murderer because he could influence her).

Daddy Day Care (2003)

Corrected entry: No sane parent on the planet, even with a huge suspension of disbelief, would pull their kids out of the high dollar school they've already paid for to attend a day care in someone's house.

marfbody

Correction: The cost was only per month so it was easy to switch. Also the high cost preschool was the only decent place to go before Daddy Day Care came along.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Correction: Short-term memory loss is not a short-term condition; that is, Dory has probably had the condition for a long time and so is better able to remember the fact that she has it.
