The Ring (2002)
Question: Why is there a lamb in the 'death tape'? I've seen this film at least 20 times, I've figured out everything else except the relevance of the lamb.
Answer: There were lambs on the hillside (near the red Japanese maple tree) that Samara was gazing at when her mother killed her.
Wasn't that just horses?
Answer: The lamb is normally associated with innocence.

The Ring (2002)
Question: I understand Samara "haunting" her parents, spooking the horses, killing everyone who watches her video as an act of revenge, but why then does she torment (or at least "talk to") Aiden? Aiden has visions of Samara days before his cousin is killed, and for some reason, she seems to interact with him a lot, though we never see it in the movie.
Answer: For some reason, I always thought that Samara started to show things to Aidan after he went to Katie's room during her wake. There, he sees a figure on the TV and the proceeds to tell Rachel that it's not Katie's room anymore (clever word play as Katie had died so nothing was hers anymore, but it also implied that Samara's spirit had taken over her room). Since Aidan was a kid just like Samara when she died, she probably attached herself to him and began showing him things and it seems to have gotten worse after Rachel watched the tape and was infected by Samara. As for the drawings showing Katie's death, Samara didn't show those images to Aidan. Katie herself told him that she was running out of time and possibly that she was going to die. This obviously caused a huge impact on Aidan prompting him to draw those pictures.
Answer: Aiden is psychic. He can sense Samara, though he doesn't understand exactly what he is experiencing.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Question: Is there a reason why they are not (yet) called "Storm" troopers?
Chosen answer: The Empire renamed the soldiers when it started accepting cadets into the Imperial Navy. Since they were not all clones, the name had to be changed.

Question: Why didn't Finland's hockey team medal in the 1980 games if they played the U.S. for the gold?
Chosen answer: It appears that the medal round was just a continuation of the round robin tournament. When the US deafeated Finland, it cliched the best record in the tournament. The Soviet Union had the second best record, and Sweden the third best.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995)
Question: I always partially catch this movie on TV. There's one thing I've never figured out. Near the end of the movie, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson are trapped on top of the bomb on the ship, and Willis gets free but Jackson drops the lock pick. Exactly how does he break Jackson out of the handcuffs? It always seems as if there's some sort of electrical jolt involved, but I just can't figure out how that's supposed to open the cuffs.
Answer: Bruce Willis use a couple of drops of the explosive residue and blows the handcuffs apart. Watch it again and see how he stabs the container.

The Ring (2002)
Question: Samara made pictures while in the psychiatric ward (the tree, horse and person). Why is there a person with all of the hardware? And what is the relevance of the burning tree? I understand that Samara burned it into her wall, but how is it important?
Answer: The burning tree represents the sun going down behind that tree in the field near the cabin.

Question: During the scene when Naomi Watts allows her ex boyfriend to watch the video for the first time, she wanders out to her apartment balcony. She observes several neighbors in the apartments surrounding her. At this point the music becomes intense - is there a hidden message or hint that we are supposed to see here?
Chosen answer: The Samara virus is transferred through the televison. See how the televisions are on in each of the apartments? This is a bit of forshadowing to the end where Rachael realizes that the only way to avoid death is to make a copy of the tape and show it to someone else.

Question: The Welcome Wagon helicopter brings a message in lights. Exactly how would that work, how do different light patterns communicate any message and who decided what patterns there would be?
Answer: The pattern of lights shows that we are an intelligent race. The lights would show a pattern and then become random. There isn't a message to speak of, but a demonstration of our intellect. Scientist would normally use the lights to represent a scientific equation or something of that nature. The aliens would respond by either mimicing the patterns, or producing a variation of the pattern we showed them.
Answer: This is also a homage to Close Encounters of the Third Kind where they communicate with the aliens via lights and sound.
