The Driver (1978)

Factual error: During the early chase, a policeman fires a shotgun at the blue LTD. Each shot is supposed to hit the trunklid, as it comes loose, then flies off, yet the lid is never damaged by the bullets, as if they are passing through the lid, hitting the hinges and lock without leaving any holes or dents in the lid itself. Alone in the Dark (2005)

Factual error: When the orphans are taken at the start of the film, the police car outside is a 1990's Ford Crown Victoria, despite the events being said to occur 22 years ago- meaning the early 1980s.

Animal House (1978)

Factual error: Boon is using a payphone and behind him, at the left of the screen is the front end of a 'coffin-nosed' 1974-78 AMC Matador sedan, a car built a dozen-plus years after the events of the film. (01:18:10)

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Factual error: The first downed Blackhawk exhibits miraculous rotor behavior as it comes to earth. It does a slow roll onto its left side, and the main rotor continues to rotate. The blades are seen straight and undamaged, as if they are passing through the earth beneath the chopper without touching anything, and each emerges full length and straight to go around again and again. This is most obvious in the shot from inside a corner building when looking directly at the top of the chopper's rotor hub. (00:50:20)

Crimson Tide (1995)

Factual error: At one point, the US sub's starboard (right) side is shown to have an American flag painted on the hull near the bow. The flag's blue field is at top/left when on this side of any vehicle, it should be at top/right. Proper display of the flag requires the blue field always be located 'forward' of the remainder of the flag on all vehicles, be they plane, boat, tank or even space shuttle. (01:19:15)

War of the Worlds (2005)

Factual error: The minivan that Ray drives is shown several times with its rear-most side window rolled all the way down. No such ability exists on any year/model of Chrysler-built minivan. They are either fixed (non-opening) or hinged at their forward edge to open like a 'flap' at the rear edge. The glass isn't broken, as it appears/reappears depending on the scene, and no such customization is possible as such a large window has no place to go down to due to the wheel well location directly below. The windows were obviously removed so the camera could move through the glass without having to use digital effects to go through the window, but in doing so, they created an obvious mistake.

Factual error: During the scene where the Terminatrix remotely controls the police and rescue vehicles, we see the police car's shifter drop one notch (from park to reverse) but the car takes off going forward, throwing a cop out. (00:28:55)
