Once More, With Feeling - S6-E7
Corrected entry: Whenever a character indirectly causes an innocent death (ie, Giles in 'The Dark Age' or Anya in 'Selfless') they have understandably been shown to feel a lot of guilt, showing that civilian deaths aren't just taken for granted. In 'Once More, With Feeling' Xander raises a demon that kills at least 3 people, yet there is no reproachment from the others or obvious guilt on his part. Why?

Corrected entry: In 'Normal Again', season 6, we learn that Buffy was in a mental clinic after telling her parents about vampires. In 'Becoming', season 2, when Joyce found out the truth about Sunnydale why didn't she mention this? It had only happened a year or two before, and a simple 'Oh god, Buffy, you were right' or 'Sorry for sending you to the funny farm, sweetie' would have been the obvious thing for her to say.
Correction: The truth about Sunnydale was something of a shock for Joyce - it would have taken her a while to absorb it properly. Most likely she did eventually apologise to Buffy about the clinic, once Buffy'd come back in season 3, anyway, but it presumably happened off-camera.

Corrected entry: In "Him", after Xander has his flashback to "Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered" he smiles and says 'Good times...', but during that episode he explicity stated that he hated what was happening. Nearly being axe murdered by a crazed horde of women shouldn't be a happy memory, it should be a traumatic one.

Corrected entry: In 'Hell's Bells' the only part of Dawn's conversation Anya could have heard is "...he's just run off and no one can find him". Given that she had already been told the cleric had run off to perform a C-section how does she instantly realise that it's Xander Dawn is talking about? Shouldn't her first thought be that Dawn is talking about the missing cleric?
Correction: Well, if she thought the cleric had left for a specific reason, she wouldn't expect anyone to be trying to find him - as they knew where he went, so it couldn't really be him that Dawn was talking about. Xander is the only other male who is essential for the ceremony, plus the fact that she knows him well enough to suspect he might suffer from cold feet.

Corrected entry: When Buffybot shorts out in the alley in 'Bargaining, part 1' she automatically returns to the Summers home to find Willow, suggesting she goes wherever Willow is likely to be. Later in the episode when she's wounded by Razor she runs straight to the grave where the others are. Shouldn't her first objective have been to return to the Summers house, and if not, how did she know where they would be?

Life Serial - S6-E5
Corrected entry: In 'Life Serial' we find out Giles has a mummy hand that can be used to perform a prosperity spell. There are no side effects or Consequences or he wouldn't have it in his shop, so why doesn't he use it to help Buffy out of her debt problems?
Correction: He does help Buffy out financially, and there is no indication that he does not use a mummy hand. Besides, as shown in "Once More, With Feeling", at this time he has come to realize that Buffy needs to take care of her own problems instead of relying on other people.

I Was Made To Love You - S5-E15
Corrected entry: In "I Was Made To Love You" Spike mentions that Warren's mother invited him in, but we see it's daylight outside. Would she really have invited a man huddled under a blanket and smouldering slightly into her home just like that?

Corrected entry: In 'Becoming' when Buffy leaves to meet Angelus in the graveyard she takes Kendra's stake, Mr. Pointy, with her. Later on that night when she slays a vampire outside her house she uses a totally different stake.

Corrected entry: Both times that Anyanka reversed wishes (in 'Beneath You' and 'Selfless') she has had to pay a price - sacrificing her teleportation power and Halfrek, respectively, but in 'Older And Far Away' Halfrek reverses Dawn's wish with no fuss and no penalty at all.
Correction: Anya lost her teleportation power at the end of season six (albeit off screen) because she over used it ("it's not a right, it's a privilege"). When Halfrek is sacrificed, this is because she is trying to reverse the DEATHS of victims and "the proverbial scales must balance" However Halfrek reversing The Wish requires no penalty as she is not trying to bring someone back to life. In the same way, Anya did NOT have to pay a penalty in 'Beneath You'

Corrected entry: How does Giles know that Jenny was murdered in the school? He found The Body in his apartment, so as far as he knew she could have been killed anywhere.
Correction: But the computer lab at school where Jenny had been working had been smashed to bits and set on fire, so the logical solution was that there had been a fight there. And it was pretty evident who won the fight.

Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight - S1-E11
Corrected entry: In 'Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight' Giles says that it's a lack of people noticing her added to the mystical strength of the Hellmouth that turned Marcy invisible, but at the end of the episode it's revealed that there's a whole classroom of people who have turned invisible. How did all of them turn invisible without the Hellmouth's influence?

Corrected entry: In the season 5 episode 'Fool For Love' Spike tells Buffy that Nikki Wood gave up because she had no ties to the world, but we later find out that she had a son, which seems like a pretty strong tie. There's no question of Spike not knowing about him; in the episode 'Lies My Parents Told Me' Spike sees him while fighting Nikki.
Correction: Spike correctly explains to Robin Wood that his mother didn't love him "enough to quit." Robin had such grief over his mother because he too realized that she did not consider him a "tie to the world."

Corrected entry: During season 1 it is mentioned a few times that if the Master rises the Hellmouth will open, since his being trapped in it has jammed it up. In 'The Wish' we see what Sunnydale would have been like if Buffy hadn't gone there and he had risen, so why didn't the Hellmouth open?
Correction: After Anya has made Cordelia's wish come true and all have entered an alternate dimension, there is no reason to believe that what was held true in one dimension also holds true in another. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable for the Master to be footloose and fancy free in an alternate dimension, and never confined.

Corrected entry: During 'The Wish', when history has changed and the Master has risen, where are Collin, Darla and the Anointed One, the Three or any of the other favoured acolytes from season 1? Buffy never killed Collin or the Three, Angel wouldn't have killed Darla if it hadn't been for Buffy and the Master would surely have been able to protect the Anointed One from Spike. Even allowing for Angel and the White Hats to have taken out one or two of them, surely at least one of the group should have been there? This is technically the real world as altered by Anyanka's temporal fold, not any kind of alternate dimension. This is what the world would have been like if Buffy hadn't come to Sunnydale, so anybody who would be alive if it weren't for Buffy should still be alive.
Correction: Colin and the anointed one were the same person and with the prophecy regarding the anointed one being linked to the slayer, no slayer equals no anointed one, same with the three, they were only called on to take out the slayer. Which leaves Darla, who still could have either been killed by Angel, after all she was part of his destiny.

Corrected entry: In 'The Prom' Angel says he never drinks coffee. In season 2 we were told that (sometime between the episodes 'Reptile Boy' and 'Halloween') Angel and Buffy went out for coffee.
Correction: This doesn't necessarily mean that he drank any coffee - it's just a general expression.

Corrected entry: In the episode 'Passion' Angelus destroys Jenny's computer before he kills her, hoping to get rid of the hard drive with his cure on it. Two episodes later in 'I Only Have Eyes For You' Willow tells Giles she found lesson plans on Jenny's hard drive. If the hard drive was destroyed with the computer she wouldn't have been able to retrieve lesson plans, but if it somehow survived the damage Willow would have found the curse when she looked through the files. Either way it's a mistake.
Correction: Having dealt with far too many fried hard drives in my day, I can tell you that it's entirely possible the sector of the hard drive that contained the spell was damaged beyond recovery, but the sector with Ms Calendar's lesson plan was not. Just because you can find one thing doesn't mean you can find everything.

Corrected entry: In the episode 'Becoming, Part 2' Spike uses a choke hold to subdue Drusilla. What good is a choke hold on a vampire who doesn't breath or have a blood flow to the brain that could be cut off?
Correction: From the buffyguide.com FAQ; 'Vampires do not need to breathe air in order to stay alive. However, like food, vampires do breathe and can do things that require breathing, like talking or smoking. If a vampire is deprived of air for enough time, they will pass out from 'suffocation', but there has never been an incidence of a vampire dying from lack of air. Also, when a vampire breathes in air, *something* happens to it that makes it unusable for CPR, which is why Angel could not save Buffy in Prophecy Girl.

Lies My Parents Told Me - S7-E17
Corrected entry: In the episode 'Lies My Parents Told Me' Spike and Dru are waiting for Spike's mother when the enters her living room, but how did they get into the house? Even entering his former home a vampire needs an invitation, and since she was surprised to see them she couldn't have been the one who let them in.
Correction: If no living person claims ownership of the house then vampires can enter as they please. Seeing Spike with his mother it is probably safe to assume that it was his house and she was a long term guest not an official resident.
Correction: Because when it's revealed, they have the slightly more pressing problem of the demon to deal with, then the episode ends pretty much once the demon's gone (after the last song, of course). Plus there's the slight matter of the fact that they dragged their best friend out of heaven to deal with. Not a lot of time for on-screen guilt there - no doubt all that took place off-camera, after the episode.
