Question: I'm unclear about the ending in this film. Was he really Don Juan and the stories he told about his sexual antics are true after all? And was he lying when he said that he really grew up in Queens, etc., just to get out of the hospital?

Peggy Sue Got Married (1986)
Question: I never understood the significance of the girl in the wheelchair at the reunion. Peggy Sue makes a big deal out of the girl but never in her "flashback" do we see this character.
Answer: You DO see Rosalie in the past. She hosts the party at which Charlie and his group sing. And Jim Carrey asks for the lights to be turned out. She walks, and begins to dance with her boyfriend.
No, that was Maddie's party. Peggy Sue's mom said so when she asked her why she wasn't ready for the party, when Charlie came to pick her up.

The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Trivia: Mel Gibson filmed the scene where Pilate is offering to release either Barabbas or Jesus and Pilate says "why do you want to crucify Jesus, he has done nothing wrong" (paraphrased) and the people shout, "Give us Barabbas, let His (Jesus) blood be on our children" which is taken directly from the gospel of Matthew; however, Gibson deleted the subtitle for the line because he felt it would fuel anti-Semitism.

The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Question: Does anyone know the significance of the Romans clubbing the feet of the two thieves crucifed at Golgotha? And why they did not do this to Jesus? I know there's an explanation for this somewhere in the gospels but I can't find it.
Chosen answer: When someone is crucified, they die from suffocation because when the arms are stretched out that far wide and you can't move your legs it is close to impossible to breathe. The platform that their feet were nailed to would serve, for a while, a way to boost your body up enough to be able to take small breaths in and out. Eventually when they were tired of waiting for you to die they would break your legs so you couldn't boost yourself up enough to breathe well and you would asphyxiate quicker. When the storm came after Jesus died, they broke the legs of the 2 thieves, but did not break Jesus's legs. The prophecy stated that the Messiah would die with no broken bones.

House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
Question: What I don't understand about this movie is, how did Dr. Satan get in this family's basement and are we supposed to believe that he did his brain surgery on the whole family which is why they are all so insane?
Chosen answer: Dr. Satan wasn't in their basement. As you watch the movie, they walked quite a ways to this well structure where they put two of the captives in this box and lowered them down. It was quite a way from their house. When the girl comes up from the dirt, there house is nowhere in sight.

What about Bob? (1991)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dr. Marvin tells Bob to "take a vacation from his problems", there are white sailboats on the lake in back of Bob but when the scene shifts back to Dr. Marvin, the boats are gone, then they once again, magically reappear.

Fatal Attraction (1987)
Continuity mistake: Early in the movie, there is a black clock on the wall in Dan's kitchen that reads 7:50. Later, when he is in Alex's apartment strangling her, the same black clock is now in her apartment and it, too, reads 7:50.

Fatal Attraction (1987)
Revealing mistake: In the first scene where we are introduced to Alex Forrest at the bar during the cocktail party, she is almost always smoking cigarettes that are not lit. She continually dashes out ashes that aren't there and there is never any smoke coming from the cigarettes.

Joy Ride (2001)
Question: Could someone please explain the ending of this movie? Am I right when I conclude that Rusty Nail planted the Ice Truck guy's body in the driver's seat and then got away leaving cops to think the Ice Truck guy was the killer? I think I'm missing something here because that ending would be ridiculously unrealistic. Thank you.
Chosen answer: That's exactly what happened leaving room for the sequel, if they make one.
But the kidnapped girl-Charlotte-would have told the police what Rusty Nail did and what he looked like. And, since Rusty Nail would have fled on foot, he would have been easy to find. Also, in order to pull off this stunt, Rusty Nail would have needed to find a way to floor the gas pedal. Finally, it would be easy for the police to identify who owned the truck Rusty Nail crashed into the motel. He either owned it or the owner of the truck knew who was driving it.

Unfaithful (2002)
Factual error: The phone number Constance gives Paul has a 914 area code which is the Westchester County area code, a suburb just outside of NYC. In a later scene, we see Constance shopping at a supermarket presumably in her neighborhood as she is in the suburbs, but when she hastily decides to drive into NYC, she drives over an unknown bridge that would never take you from Westchester County to NYC.

Chosen answer: I think the point is that it doesn't matter. He can be Don Juan if he likes - so can anybody - and who is to tell who someone else really is?
