Live Free or Die Hard

Audio problem: Just as McClane and Farrell are about to leave the Eastern Power Hub, Farrell goes on a long rant and his mouth does not match the words he is saying. [In the unrated version of the film, the rant concurs with Will's mouth movements, but the mistake is valid for the regular version.]

Continuity mistake: When John and Mai are fighting at the power plant, John tosses Mai up against a glass board. Her pony tail has come undone and her hair is a big mess. You see Mai from the back as she gets up to come after John. Her hair is now neatly combed and back in a pony tail. But as she begins to fight, her hair is once again undone and messy.

Factual error: During the chase with the semi, McClane is shown struggling to keep the truck under control with the freeway collapsing/blowing up all around him. He is shown making a left turn on a ramp, and the truck going up on 9 wheels, almost rolling. The shot cuts back to McClane steering left to to try to control the truck. If he were to steer left, as depicted, he would be guaranteed to roll the truck. If he was trying to get the wheels back down, he'd have to steer into the roll, or right, to bring it back on the wheels. At the end of the shot, you can actually see the stuntman brings the wheels down with a short right turn of the steering wheel. The similar entry in corrections is right, the person making the correction is wrong. During 15 years of driving a semi, I had a very similar situation with the truck almost rolling. I had to steer into the roll to bring the truck back on the wheels, not away from it, as the film showed McClane doing.

Trivia: The FBI agent who is assigned to escort John & Matthew through D.C introduces himself as "Special Agent Johnson." Then John says "Agent Johnson? Great." This is a nod to the first "Die Hard," which featured two FBI agents who were both named Johnson.

John McClane: How about... [grunts.] Yippee-ki-yay... Motherfucker! [Grabs the gun and fires it through himself and into Gabriel.].

Question: You'll have to forgive my ignorance regarding a comment made by Matt Farrell. He said that it took FEMA five days to get water to the Superdome. What exactly was he talking about?

Chosen answer: In 2005, Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city of New Orleans with many of the residents temporarily housed in the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) was highly criticized for their response (or lack of), including how long it took to supply the Superdome with adequate water and food. Matt's pointing out to John how the government isn't nearly as capable of responding to disaster as people think.

Question: When the FBI take McClane and Farrell and the voice of Maggie Q is recognised by Matt - how does she know McClane is with Matt? She says to get her a line to the FBI driver and get me all the info on John McClane. At which point did they even know John McClane's name or who he was?

Chosen answer: The radio line mentioned the officer's name in the seconds after Gabriel's voice recognition picked up Farrell's name.

Question: Near the end of the film, when McClane, his daughter Lucy, and the hacker Matt Farrell are about to leave in the ambulance, there is a sign with the number 5 hanging out of a warehouse in the background - does this mean there will be a Die Hard 5?

Allister Cooper, 2011

Chosen answer: Looks like a standard 5 mph speed sign to me. You can't read too much into that. In addition though, Bruce Willis has already stated in a few interviews that he'd be more than happy to do another one.
