Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

Continuity mistake: When Charles finally walks through the vestry door to 'face the enemy' his hair changes from rather messy to nicely combed, then to messy again when he walks through the church.

Continuity mistake: Carrie and Charles meet his brother at a cinema. When Carrie leaves and they walk into the shop Charles' loose shirt gets half tucked into his shorts from one shot to the next.

Audio problem: In the scene near the beginning of the film where Charles and Scarlet are heading to the first wedding, they miss their turn off and so have to reverse on the motorway. You see that Scarlet turns her head around to see out the back of the car and can hear her swearing but her mouth never opens.

Trivia: If you think the church where Charles nearly marries Henrietta looks familiar, that's because it's the same church where the Sheriff of Nottingham attempted to force Maid Marion to marry her in Robin Hood;Prince of Thieves-St Bartholomew the Great in London.

Trivia: In the scene where Charles has run into Henrietta in the hallway after witnessing Bernard and Lydia having their sneaky consummation, Henrietta pulls Charles' head onto her shoulder. Look closely and you can see Hugh Grant's lip get caught quite badly on the fabric.

Question: Why wouldn't Charles' brother be his best man? Or is that not traditional in England the way it is in America? It's not mandatory but is certainly expected, unless the brothers are not close (which Charles and his brother are) or the groom's father serves as best man.

Chosen answer: A groom can choose whoever he wants as best man. As you say yourself, it's by no means mandatory for it to be the groom's brother, even if they are close. In this particular case, it's possible that David felt that he ought not to be the best man, due to the difficulty that he'd have in making a speech, but, really, Charles was under no obligation to choose him.

Question: Who is Scarlett? She appears to live with Charles, but not share a bed with him; IMDb refers to her as Charles' sister, but her, er, style of talking is so out of kilter with Charles and indeed all the others that it seems unlikely that she's related.

Chosen answer: According to a deleted scene, she was found passed out drunk under the kitchen table after a party that Charles hosted and never got around to leaving. She's now his lodger, presumably paying rent and a share of the bills.

Question: Why were there no rings exchanged during Bernard and Lydia's wedding ceremony?

Chosen answer: The priest had so mangled the entire ceremony that this was just one more blunder.
