Despite its legacy having been somewhat tarnished by five sequels of varying quality, Oren Peli's original "Paranormal Activity" is to this day one of the best examples of the "found footage" sub-genre done right. Genuinely spooky fun, it's perfect fodder for late-night viewing, and it's one of my go-to's for the Halloween season. I'd give it a good 4 out of 5.
Micah: Basically, they're these malevolent evil spirits that only exist to cause pain and commit evil for their own amusement. It's pretty creepy. I mean, they stalk people for years, like decades, and sometimes they're really intelligent in the way they do things to freak you out.
Trivia: As part of a marketing gimmick, the film wasn't going to receive a traditional release. Instead, audiences could click a button online to "demand" their local theaters get a copy, and once an area got enough "demands," a copy would be shipped there. This was done because the studio was worried they wouldn't make enough money if they did a wide release. So many people ended up "demanding" the film, that the studio eventually caved and gave it a wide release. It became a massive hit.
Question: I hope someone can help me with this: In one of the movie's /teaser/promotional posters, we see Katie and Micah tightly huddled together on the extreme far right of their bed while they look at a shadow of something that is outlined on their bedroom door. I've seen the movie more than once but don't remember that scene. When (or if) does this occur in the movie?

Answer: It's just a movie poster, not showing any part of a scene. Some movie posters may take different parts of the movie and combine them to make a more suspenseful image for the movie poster/teaser. There is a part in the movie with a shadow on the door, and there is a time where they are together on the bed in a similar position. Combine the two to make the poster interesting.
