Question: At the end of the "We Are One" song, Simba and Kiara have returned to pride rock around sunset. Fine, fine, but the thing that's been bugging me for years is: Kiara stares intently at something, causing Simba to frown and look up to see what she sees. He seems to chuckle, then turns back to her. What is it that they were looking at before he says "You'll understand some day" and why is it there?
Question: If Scar chose Kovu, why is Kovu not the same age as Simba? Instead, he's the same age as Kiara, but Kiara is born only after Scar's death. Even if Scar chose Kovu say, a week prior to his death, Kovu would still be older than Kiara, and Scar would likely have had the pride of Outland lionesses at his back, rather than the Hyenas that killed him. Instead, the only lionesses we see are the Prideland lionesses. If Scar was able to lead the outlanders as their king with Zira at his side, I'm rather confused about his desire for Pride rock in the first place.
Answer: It's since been revealed that Zira completely made up the bit about Scar choosing Kovu as his successor. Any errors or plot holes can thus be chalked up to that.
Chosen answer: The Kovu age discrepancy, and the lack of outlander support for Scar during his Pridelands rule, are plot holes, pretty much unavoidably created by the very story in this sequel.
Answer: Perhaps Zira had just got pregnant with him and Scar had no choice but to select the unborn cub to be the new leader if it was male, and he was lucky that it was. He might have guessed that Simba would come back some time and he made this decision in a panic, forgetting about anyone else. Nala would get pregnant with Kiara around this time and she and Simba were seen possibly mating (though well hidden by Disney) during the love song in the first movie. Some time may have passed since this moment, meaning she could give birth around the same time as Zira. One more thing is that baby Kiara is a lot chubbier than Simba was, so the ceremony could be a bit late and she is a bit older than people think at that moment.
Question: I've heard that Kovu means "Scar" in Swahili, and that Kiara means small dark thing, but do any other names mean anything? Like Simba, Mufasa, Nala, Zira, Nuka and Vitani?
Answer: Simba means "lion". Nala means "gift". Zira means "hate". Nuka means "smell". Vitani means something like "warrior" or "at war". Mufasa is a proper name in the language used - it was reportedly the name of the last king of the Bagada people, who were dispersed during the English colonisation of Kenya.
Question: When did "The Lion King 2" come out in cinema/video? and what was it about?
Question: Did Zira think that Simba killed Scar? Or was she aware of the fact that hyenas killed him?
Answer: She assumed Simba killed him. The movie mentions the hyenas ran off. If they ran off after killing scar, she never would have heard a confession from them and likely wouldn't have believed Simba if he told her. Even she did see them before they ran off; there's a good chance they lied to her to avoid her revenge as she is obviously pretty vengeful.
Question: This is about both the first and second film, and the Lion Guard. How did only one cub born occur about four times in a row (Simba, first cub of Simba whose name is unknown, Kiara and Kion). Why weren't there more than one born at once for this long amount of time?
Answer: Because this a fictional animated movie that bends reality in order to better serve the plot. Having too many lion cub characters being born would be confusing and clutter the story line.
Question: Why didn't Rowan Atkinson reprise his role as Zazu in this movie? Since he voiced Zazu in the first film, why didn't he voice him in this one?
Answer: Kiara is staring at the tip of Pride Rock and thinking of the that she will be a leader one day, due to the fact that shown in the first movie that this is where the new kings/queens roar to show that they are the new rulers. Simba notices her looking and chuckles at the irony of him having wanting to be leader so badly at her age and Kiara not wanting to be a leader at all.
