Corrected entry: In the song "Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua'a" When Sharpay is dancing she is bare foot, most noticeable when she is on the surfboard. But at the end of the song she is wearing Flip-Flops without any time to put any on.

Correction: Not true. Yes, Sharpay is barefoot for the entire song, but when she finishes she excuses herself for a moment she walks off to the right of the screen, to huddle with her Sharpettes. At that time there are quite a few close-ups of Troy and Ryan, during which she could have simply slipped on her flip-flops, before Sharpay walks back over to Troy.

Corrected entry: During the first dance number, when Chad is dancing with the cheerleaders in the hallway, all of the girls are not wearing any shoes but instead they are dancing in socks.

Correction: So what? If they want to dance in socks, there's no particular reason why they shouldn't. We're talking about a reality where people spontaneously break into song and carefully choreographed dance routines. Under those circumstances, frankly, pretty much anything goes.

Corrected entry: During the song "Gotta Go My Own Way" Gabriella gives Troy her necklace and she leaves. Then during the song "Everyday," Gabriella comes out of nowhere wearing the necklace. Where did she get it from?

Correction: Of course she is wearing the necklace again, that's the point. After Troy goes back to just being kitchen help, makes up with Chad and the others, then agrees to sing with Sharpay as well as to learn the new song, behind the scenes Ryan, Kelsi and whomever else sneakily arrange for Gabriella to show up at the talent show. Considering the fact that Gabriella came back to the resort and then learned the new song, it is also obvious that behind the scenes either she or one of their friends simply retrieved her 'T' necklace (from Troy's bedroom or locker), so when Troy sees her wearing it again he would instantaneously know that 'they' are okay.

Corrected entry: In "You are the Music in Me" Gabriella's necklace is gone at about the middle of the song, but it's not in her hand. Then Troy suddenly has the necklace.

Correction: Gabriella wears the necklace the entire time, and during Sharpay's version of the song, Gabriella is not seen. If the submitter meant the song "Gotta Go My Own Way," when Gabriella returns the necklace to Troy, the mistake is still incorrect. At the start of the song, Gabriella wears the necklace when she is with Troy at the pool area, and then their hands part. In the next shot, she's in the locker room and she has already removed the necklace - with plenty of time to do so offscreen. When they meet on the bridge, there are several shots in which Gabriella can easily slip the small necklace into Troy's hand.

Corrected entry: At the end of singing "Gotta Go My Own Way," Gabriella gives Troy back his "T" necklace. The next time he sees her, as she emerges from the crowd during the song "Everyday," she's wearing the necklace again.

Corrected entry: In the last song/scene, as the leads take their places on the top rocks, Chad takes his place in the bottom left corner, and the mike stand wobbles. He stops the pole, but the mic falls off. In the next shot, everything is fine. (01:39:40)

Correction: This does not occur in consecutive shots. In the first shot the microphone falls from its stand, and we see Chad looking down toward the fallen mic just as he goes offscreen while the camera is panning from left to right. The second shot is a closeup of Taylor dancing, and it's not until the third shot we see the mic back on its stand. There was ample time for Chad to simply pick up the mic and place it back on the stand's clip, while he was offscreen.

Corrected entry: During "You Are The Music In Me," when Gabriella sings "and it's brought us here because" at the end of the song with the other Wildcats, she keeps singing 'here' and misses the word 'because'.

Correction: If you listen to the song, you will be able to hear that Gabriella is supposed to sustain the word "here" and intentionally miss "because" while the rest of the Wildcats sing it.

Corrected entry: Right after Troy and Chad are caddies for the Evan's family, in the kitchen Chad puts his feet in a bucket into which a girl pours a lot of ice. When Mr. Fulton comes and tells them that this isn't a spa all of the ice is gone.

Movieman123

Correction: If you look close, you can see that there is still ice in the bucket.

Corrected entry: Ryan says he was on the Newport, Rhode Island Little League World Series Championship team, but Newport never won that title.

Correction: This is fiction. Not under any particular obligation to be accurate on such matters.

Tailkinker

Corrected entry: When Troy wrote "Let's go" he would've had to write it upside-down and back-to-front for Chad to see it the right way. (00:23:35)

Correction: Since we never see onscreen the position of his waiter order pad, as he actually writes the words "let's go" on that top sheet, all he would have had to do is flip the small pad over before we view the close-up of those words on the pad. And considering how they were all rushing about after hearing Fulton's voice, Troy simply grabbed the pad and quickly wrote the words (all offscreen) and then stood there nonchalantly when Fulton walked in. There is no 'mistake' nor is there anything odd about it.

Corrected entry: When Gabriella first starts crossing the bridge while singing "Go My Own Way" she is wearing traditional flip-flops, you can tell by how the shoes pull from her feet. The rest of the song, before and after that shot, she has on the white shoes with the heel strap.

Correction: When Gabriella crosses the bridge she wears the same white flats with sling straps that she had on from the moment she had walked out of the Lava Springs kitchen and confronted Sharpay by the pool, to the moment she walks to the vehicle to leave the country club. When she gets to the van we can see the flat's sling strap is not so secure, which could deceive the viewer and appear as if she is wearing other footwear such as flip-flops.

Corrected entry: After Gabriella sings "Gotta Go My Own Way", Troy is seen laying in his bed throwing a basketball up, and catching it again. Every time he catches it, it makes the noise of a basketball being caught. Troy then sits up on the bed, and the ball in his hand is revealed to just be a stuffed toy, and therefore, couldn't make that noise.

Correction: The type of pillow that he had would've made that noise when it hit his hand.

Corrected entry: When they are in the kitchen playing the pots and pans, Gabriella starts tapping some glasses then she starts dancing but the tapping sound can still be heard.

Correction: It is a musical there are instruments playing that cannot be seen in other songs as well.

Corrected entry: In "Gotta Go My Own Way", you hear back ground singers, yet there is no one in the background to sing it.

Correction: But this is a musical- often times you hear background singers in the track when there aren't any in the scene. People don't randomly burst out into song either, but in musicals anything can and will happen.

Corrected entry: Right before"All For One", there is a sign by the pool that says "Pool Closed for staff party", however Ryan and Sharpay were there and they weren't a part of the staff.

Correction: Since most of the summer staff was from East High, Ryan and Sharpay were invited to the party to be with their peers.

Corrected entry: When Troy is with the Wildcats talking about the last second shot, he tells them it wouldn't have been possible without his teammates because they stole the ball, when in fact he was the one who stole it.

Correction: He is just giving them more credit so it seems he is not the most important player.

Corrected entry: When Troy and Gabriella are singing "You are the Music In Me", the last half of the song they do not look at the paper containing the lyrics. It would be impossible for them to know the lyrics if they'd never heard the song before.

Correction: It is a musical. People frequently burst into song spontaneously and all know the same dance moves.

Corrected entry: During "You Are the Music In Me" Troy's hair is being blown messy, because they are standing on a vent. But in the next shot, his hair is still, and neat.

Correction: When Troy walks back to his microphone, he straightens his hair.

Corrected entry: Troy's cell phone rings and he answers it, thinking it's Gabriella, but it turns out that it was really Mr. Fulton. Later, Troy calls Gabriella and her picture shows up on his phone. Troy should have known before that it wasn't Gabriella, by looking at his phone.

Correction: Gabriella could have been calling from a phone inside the country club, not her cell phone. That's why Troy doesn't know it is actually Fulton. He is hoping Gabriella is calling from another phone.

Dedderbot

Corrected entry: When Sharpay is singing "Fabulous", at the beginning, when they are singing on the deck chairs, Ryan is there in one shot, then there's a girl replacing him, then he comes back again.

Correction: This is a musical. Things like that happen often.

Correction: The girl isn't replacing Ryan. She has her own chair.

Continuity mistake: Just as they start to sing "What Time Is It" the top of Troy's boxers are visible above his belt. He starts out wearing light colored boxers, which change to dark, then light, and again to dark colored boxers during this song. (00:02:05)

Question: Is it true that the song "I Don't Dance" was specifically written for Corbin and Lucas because they both auditioned for the role of Ryan, but since Lucas was a better dancer, he got the part?

Answer: It is just a coincidence. Corbin's character is all about sports and feels that Ryan is not in the same league when it comes to baseball (pardon the pun). Ryan, on the other hand, wants to prove that dancing takes just as much athleticism and dedication as sports therefore the game and song are a showdown between two cliques you generally find in high school, the athletes and the drama club.
