Hot Fuzz

Visible crew/equipment: When Angel is in the Volkswagan and going back to Sandford, there is a closeup of Angel. In his sunglasses you can see the camera clear as day. (01:26:20)

Ssiscool

Factual error: When Joyce is shooting the MP34 at Angel, she hits a car window. The bullet creates a nice little hole but nothing else whatsoever happens to the glass. The glass should, at the very least, smash. (01:31:45)

Ssiscool

Continuity mistake: When diving into the pub, Danny and Nick's position is constantly changing through the dive. In some shots they are nearly on the floor, but still high in the air in the next shot. (01:34:05)

Revealing mistake: After Angel gets shot in the vest, you get a good closeup of his bandoleer of shotgun shells. You can see the gold paint rubbed off on the primer side of the cartridges, revealing the red plastic underneath. You can also see that the end of the round either just has paper stuffed into it or is completely empty. A real shotgun round will have a brass cap/primer and the end will either be folded completely over (like the shutter of a camera) or show a rifled slug inside. (01:37:20)

Continuity mistake: In the pub, when Nicholas and Danny overturn a table and take cover, in following shots the holes and damage to the table either disappear or change significantly, depending on camera angle. (01:38:15)

Super Grover

Revealing mistake: When Angel and Danny jump into the skip, you can see the boxes under the rubbish have been placed there specifically. (01:41:00)

Revealing mistake: When the officer holding the double barrel shotgun has it broken open to reload it, you can see that the primers have been dimpled, meaning that they've been fired. The rifle is closed up again without the spent shells being replaced. (01:41:10)

Factual error: At the end of the film, SGT Angel gets into his Police car Subaru Impreza, and on the bonnet it has the writing 'Sandford Constabulary'. This is incorrect, it would in fact be 'Gloucestershire Constabulary' as established at the start of the film that Sandford is in Gloucestershire. A Constabulary is always named after the County, never after a tiny village within that County. (01:49:35)

Continuity mistake: Nick's character is eating an ice cream in the police car and eats the whole thing. When the shot changes to Simon's side, he's still got about half of it left.

Cybermoose

Continuity mistake: When Doris comes into the station with Danny's birthday cake she has a pair of fake boobs over her sweater. But when she puts the cake down on the table they have disappeared, even though she was holding the cake with both hands.

Revealing mistake: When the Sergeant has the shotguns in the backpack on his back, and you see a close up of his face, you can see that the shotguns do not have triggers. On plastic prop rifles, the trigger is usually molded into the trigger guard in the pulled back position, and you can see this on these prop shotguns.

Ian Hunt

Continuity mistake: When Nicholas and Danny are discussing the case at the table, Nicholas groans and drops his head onto his arms. When we cut back to Nicholas, his head is on the desk.

Other mistake: When Martin Freeman punches in the numbers on the telephone to call Steve Coogan, the numbers he enters are not shown on the telephone's screen.

Continuity mistake: When Nicholas and Danny break into the bar in the village shoot out, the barman has a double barrel shotgun, so it's only capable of holding 2 shells and firing either both shells or one at a time. Either way, if you watch closely, he lets off 3 shells.

RodgerTheAlien

Factual error: Angel says he went to Canterbury University. It's actually called the University of Kent or the University of Kent at Canterbury, but never Canterbury University. Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury's other university, only became a university in 2005, after Angel is likely to have ceased being a student.

Necrothesp

Audio problem: When Angel is having a go at Danny in the rain after Tim Messenger has been murdered, there is a shot of Danny over Angel's shoulder. In this shot you can see Angel's mouth isn't moving, but we hear him still shouting at Danny.

Ssiscool

Continuity mistake: When the police are running to the door of Somerfield, Danny is in front. Camera cuts and now Angel is arriving at the trolleys first.

Ssiscool

Factual error: Somehow, after being visibly shot directly, at least 6 times, the glass or plastic window of the deli case does not shatter, with powerful shotgun bullets merely ricocheting off glass. [Originally, Wright wanted the glass at the deli counter to shatter during the supermarket shoot-out. However, the production decided it would be too expensive to replace because it was curved glass. To explain why the glass does not shatter, Wright included sounds of bullets ricocheting off bulletproof glass, presuming Skinner had planned ahead and made his deli out of bulletproof glass just in case the fuzz came after him. However, when the cops rammed the shopping carts into the deli counter at the end of the scene, it broke the glass anyway.]

Visible crew/equipment: When Angel stands after being shot in his bulletproof vest, the entire crew is reflected in his sunglasses. Most obvious is the boom operator with his microphone.

Nicholas Angel: Mr. Porter, what's your wine selection?
Roy Porter: Oh, we've got red... And, er... White?
Nicholas Angel: I'll have a pint of lager, please.

Trivia: Real life police actually praise this movie for one aspect. And that is the realistic depiction of paperwork being done after every event. Most police films and shows never show or talk about the paperwork and cops were glad to see the most annoying part of the job finally get recognition.

Question: I just watched for the second time on Netflix and I have a question, How does Danny survive at the end of the film when the old man shoots Angel with a shotgun and Danny jumps in front of him to save his life? After the whole building blows up we see Danny lying on the bricks almost dying and in the next scene (a year later) he is fine. I have the feeling that there's a scene missing (like Netflix cut it out or something) otherwise I can't understand it.

Answer: There's no missing scene. He just managed to survive the gunshot. Simple as that. It's a comedy movie that's having some fun with action-film cliches. Character surviving gunshots and explosions that should have killed them fits right in with that theme. (Not to mention, even beyond the movie, it's not uncommon at all for people to survive gunshots like that in real life).
