Anastasia

Continuity mistake: In the scene on the boat, when Dimitri gives Anya the blue dress, the piping along the sleeves and the bottom changes from white, to nothing and back to white.

Continuity mistake: When Anastasia is singing after leaving the orphanage, there's a part when you see Pooka playing with these squirrels and in the next shot they disappear.

Continuity mistake: In the mirror scene with Anastasia's grandma when they're singing, the mirrors show the hair band Anastasia's wearing disappears. The lower part of her earring is missing in the reflection shortly afterwards. (01:08:20)

Continuity mistake: Anastasia's hair length changes throughout the movie; from fairly short at the beginning, to much longer when she puts on the dress Demetri bought her, back to a shorter length at the end when she's seen with her grandmother.

Suggested correction: Anya's hair stays the same length. At the beginning, it's worn up in a bun with a ponytail at the end, and after she puts on the dress, she lets her hair down and just ties it back with a ribbon. Her hairstyle at the end with her grandmother is styled in some sort of up-do for her to wear the crown.

Continuity mistake: In the song "Paris Holds the Key to Your Heart," at the beginning of the song, when they sing "Down what we call la rue," the girl selling flowers stands next to Anastasia. In the next shot, she stands a little bit behind her.

Neptopia

Factual error: In the beginning of the film, the Dowager Empress Marie states that the year is 1916 and that they are celebrating the 300th anniversary of their family's rule. The 300th anniversary actually took place in 1913. (00:01:05)

Trivia: The drawing held by the Dowager Empress while reminiscing with Anya (the same drawing young Anastasia gives her at the beginning of the film) is a replica of a picture the real Anastasia drew for her father in 1914.
