Suggested correction: This entry is completely false. The problem with this scene is that Duke (Tony Danza) does not push the 8-track tape all the way in where it would click into place. It is very clear that the tape is inserted upright because you can read the tape's label. The person who posted that the tape is upside down only posted a blatant lie. I watched the scene just now for the 2nd and 3rd time to verify this.

Factual error: When the tape is inserted into the player, "California Dreamin'" comes out of the speakers...not in October 1965. That single wasn't even recorded until later that year, with the album released the following year. Only albums and compilations were recorded on 8-tracks, and neither would have been on that tape.

Factual error: When officer Bimbeau is locked in the restroom, officer Clark shoots the lock eight times -- with a six-shot Smith & Wesson revolver.

Factual error: One driving scene includes the main characters passing a 1978 Pontiac Firebird. Another has the main characters stopped on the side of the road holding a conversation, when a 1970s subcompact Honda drives by. Neither vehicle mentioned existed in 1965.

Factual error: When Jimmy Shine is picked up by Dee-Dee, her 1961 Galaxie Starliner is shod with Goodyear White-Lettered Polyglas tires, which were not available until 1969.

Visible crew/equipment: After Dudley's mom drops him off when he's wearing his magician costume, just as the girls call him over we can see four chalk T-marks on the ground in the wideshot, before Newbomb borrows his costume.

Continuity mistake: When the boys are up in the tree peeping on Sally and her two girlfriends changing, their red car's license plate reads BAD480, but when Brenda and Shirley pull up to the drive-in their white car's license plate also reads BAD480.

Suzie Q: How about a kiss?
Duke: Sure, those never cost anything.
Suzie Q: Yes they did. I got used to them.
