Audio problem: When Tina is in the car with who she thinks is her boyfriend but is really Michael Myers; watch her lips when she says the line "Nothing Mike, that's what I get, Nothing." It is obvious that this line was dubbed in over something else as her lips do not match that particular line. (00:42:55)

Revealing mistake: You can see the knife blade bend when Michael stabs Tina. (01:06:50)

Revealing mistake: When Michael (dressed up as Mikey) brakes the car when Tina asks him to stop at the store, you see that when he brakes, the rear red lights don't come on. (01:13:25)

Continuity mistake: When chasing Jamie in the woods, Mikey's headlights go from normal chevy headlights to off-road high beams.

Plot hole: In the beginning, Rachel and Loomis are referring to Rachel's mother as being Jamie's step mother and Rachel refers Jamie as being her step sister. Rachel's mother is Jamie's foster mother and Jamie is Rachel's foster sister as said in Halloween 4.

Continuity mistake: The Myers house was a small Victorian house in all the other films, but in this one it's a huge gothic mansion.

Revealing mistake: When Spitz is stabbed with the pitchfork, you can see the line where the fake chest is. It's a different color.

Revealing mistake: In the beginning when Michael crawls out of the mine shaft that was just bombed he floats downstream. You see that he floats up to the old man's dock. If you look at him you can clearly see that he is wearing a black lifejacket. The filmmakers didn't even try to hide it under his suit, it is clearly visible on the outside of his jumpsuit.

Visible crew/equipment: When the punk Mikey was waxing his car, you can see a stage light in the reflection of the car.

Continuity mistake: When Jamie and the officer wait in the upstairs room of Michael's old house, when you look at the window it is dark outside but then when it shows the doctor downstairs talking to Michael the sunlight is shining into the house.

Continuity mistake: When Jamie is at the old Myers place she hides in the coffin - she also noticed Rachel dead in a chair, but when Michael goes berserk and Jamie takes off, running past the chair that Rachel was in, her body is gone.

Revealing mistake: When Jamie is in the attic, she sees Max hanging by his neck. You can tell it's a stuffed toy dog.

Factual error: When Jamie and the cop are in the room upstairs and Michael is breaking through the door, The cop shoots ten shots out of a revolver without reloading.

Continuity mistake: When Michael Myers is chasing Billy at the farm in the car, his position changes as he is driving - he is on the passenger side several times then on the driver side.

Audio problem: Watch closely to the scene right after Tina is stabbed and Billy is trying to pull Jaime away from her. There is a part where in the dimly lit bushes where Jaime keeps yelling "Tina", but her lips aren't moving.

Audio problem: When Sam is fighting Michael in the barn she says "you son of a bitch", but her mouth is closed.

Continuity mistake: In the scene were Tina asks Michael to stop the car at the store he starts driving faster going at least 30mph for 7 seconds. When he finally stops and backs up he drives about 5-10mph and ends up outside the store in 4 seconds.

Visible crew/equipment: While Mikey is shinning his car (as well as the stage light already listed as a mistake), as he goes along the side panel, just before the side mirror goes out of shot you can see the camera go past and a guys head in the reflection of the mirror.

Mikey: So how many cases can we get?
Spitz: Three cases. Any more and I think old Mr. Casy would-ah-know something's up, but we gotta get going, shift changes pretty soon. You gonna pull around back or should we both get busted out front?

Question: Up to this point in the series (and even in the next film), Michael is portrayed as a remorseless killer with no emotions. However, in this one, he takes his mask off at Jamie's request and even sheds a tear. He becomes enraged when Jamie tries to touch him, reverting back to the remorseless personality. What was the point of this sudden, and brief, display of emotion?

Answer: Director Dominique Othenin-Girard made the puzzling decision to try and humanize Michael in this film by showing he still had some traces of emotion that could be momentarily reached. Thus when Jamie talks to him, he briefly recovers his humanity, takes off his mask and sheds a single tear. Othenin-Girard felt that this made Michael more frightening, because his evil was so great that even if he still had regular emotions that occasionally emerged, the evil inside of him would eventually take over. But it does kind of come out of nowhere and contradict the other films... hence this idea was more-or-less ignored in future sequels.
