Continuity mistake: When the army takes Sheeta away, and throw Pazu in the dungeon, Pazu doesn't have his hat, nor is it anywhere in the room. And when he was able to come out, still no hat. But as soon as he leaves the fortress, it suddenly appears.

Other mistake: How does Dola know that Sheeta's pigtails were shot off? They had been outside in their aircraft the whole time and once Dola got Sheeta in a tight hug, the situation doesn't call for any time for her to explain what happened.
Trivia: After the robot gives Sheeta a flower for the grave, four fox squirrels are seen playing around on his shoulder. They are cameos from Miyazaki's first animated masterpiece, "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind." (1984). (01:33:20)
