Revealing mistake: In the Department of Mysteries, when Lucius removes his mask Bellatrix stands behind him, but her entire body has been digitally blackened. Additionally, there are two distinct shots in which there is a digital shape highlighting Bellatrix's face/upper body that moves as she moves. The first occurs when she remarks, "He knows how to play," then after Lucius begins to say, "Prophecies can only be retrieved," when he continues with the words, "by those about whom" it occurs once again in the close-up. Continuity mistake: In the Department of Mysteries, when Hermione says, "It's just an empty archway," the scratch on Harry's right cheek is large and bloody, but in the next shot it is significantly smaller. It continues to change in following shots. (01:48:40)

Continuity mistake: As Harry holds the Prophecy, when Lucius says, "Don't you want to know the secret to your scar? ...I can show you everything," both he and Bellatrix stand directly in front of Harry and neither are wearing masks. The problem is in the overhead shot, when Harry says, "I've waited 14 years," two mask-wearing Death Eaters are approaching Harry, who's holding the glowing Prophecy orb, but maskless Lucius and Bellatrix are supposed to be standing there already. Continuity mistake: When Dudley is lying on the ground, with the Dementor hovering over him doing his thing, notice the wall behind Dudley with huge white graffiti. First he is lying past that specific graffiti, closer to the entrance/exit, then he is lying 4-5 ft away, on the other side of that graffiti.

Continuity mistake: As Lupin restrains Harry from following Sirius into the Death Arch, the wand in Lupin's right hand alternates from pointing down to pointing up, then down again.

Continuity mistake: In the Forbidden Forest, Hermione dings the bell on the handlebar in the close-up as Grawp stands quite a few feet away with empty hands. Harry's and Hermione's eyes remain fixed on Grawp as Hermione dings the bell, so we know he does not pick up another handlebar. In the next shot, Grawp, still standing in the same place, dings the bell on the same handlebar; it changed hands between shots.

Character mistake: In the scene just before Harry and Cho kiss in the Room of Requirement, there is a clear Daily Prophet headline to the right of the mirror - 'Mystery Disappearences' a mis-spelling of the word disappearances.

Plot hole: Harry can now see the thestral creatures because he witnessed Cedric Diggory's death in "Goblet of Fire." However, he should have been able to see the thestrals after Professor Quirrell died from Harry's touch in "Philosopher's Stone". Quirrell crumbles into dust (dying) while Harry is still conscious, watching, and fully aware of what he is seeing, thus allowing it to fully sink into his consciousness. Harry faints "after" Quirrell is dead and as Voldemort's spirit passes through his body. Nor does it only have to be a friend or loved one who dies before the thestrals can be seen - it can be anyone, including an enemy like Quirrell. There only has to be an emotional response to the death, which can be love, hate, fear, shock, etc. (In the book, Harry did not see Quirrell die, but that's irrelevant to the film).

Suggested correction: JK Rowling has said that in order to be able to see thestrals the death has to "sink in" psychologically with the person. Which was her explanation for why he couldn't see thestrals even though he witnessed his mother's death. Given Harry's age and the way Quirrell died, it is possible that Quirrell's death didn't have enough of a psychological impact on him to "sink in." After I first personally witnessed a violent death, I didn't feel the impact until a few years later. It can take time.

Kingsley Shacklebolt: You may not like him, Minister, but you can't deny it, Dumbledore's got style.

Trivia: The costume department tried in vain to produce Luna's radish-like earrings. Evana Lynch made her own - they're the ones she wears in the film.

Question: I don't understand why Voldemort needed the prophecy from the Department of Mysteries. Doesn't he already know that Harry can possibly kill him, since Harry conquered him on the night of James and Lily's murders?

Answer: When Voldemort originally attacked Harry, he was acting on information provided to him by Snape. But Snape's information was not complete, ergo why Voldemort lost his powers. He wants the prophecy in order to hear it in its entirety, because he believes it will give him the information he needs to kill Harry.
