Corrected entry: Spooner rescues a cat from a house as it is being demolished. He then goes to Dr. Calvin's house and asks her if she would like a cat. She said she was allergic, then asked why he is talking about cats. Spooner tells her it's because he has a homeless cat in the trunk of his car.The cat was never mentioned or seen again. It seems like he may have forgotten it in the trunk.

Correction: The cat wasn't forgotten, for Spooner obviously gave the cat to his grandma (I think it's his grandma anyway). You see the cat again the very next time Spooner goes to see her.

Corrected entry: After the demolition robot demolishes the house, there is still quite a bit of it left, both walls are standing on either side, why would it stop? Need some context for this one - if it's destroying a house does there need to be any real method? According to the three laws, a robot is supposed to do everything it is told unless it interferes with one of the other laws, if the robot was told to demolish the house, why would it stop before the job was completed?

Sol Parker

Correction: It was overwritten by USR and told to demolish the house with Spooner inside. Since he managed to escape, it was told to stop.

Kirill Ostapenko

Corrected entry: The police chief said that a robot had never committed a crime but a thief could tell a robot to commit a crime for him or he would kill himself, as the robot would have to do it according to the three laws.

star wars freak

Correction: That does appear to be a potential loophole, yes, but either it's never actually happened, in which case the chief's statement is correct, or, if it has occured in the past, then it seems quite likely that the police would consider the thief rather than the robot to be the guilty party, as the robot is being coerced into carrying out the crime, in which case his statement is still not unreasonable.

Tailkinker

Corrected entry: When the huge machine is demolishing the house Spooner jumps into the swimming pool with the cat in order to avoid being killed. Right after that he goes over to Dr. Calvin's house, and yet his clothes are completely dry when he gets there. And he obviously did not stop at his apartment to change into dry clothes, since he is still wearing the same clothes as when he was in the house being demolished.

Correction: The film does not show us exactly how long it takes for Spooner to get to Dr. Calvin's home, so it's possible his clothes could have dried on the way over.

Corrected entry: If Dr. Alfred Lanning had fallen from the massive height that he did in the film, his body would have been in a much more mangled state.

Correction: There is no way to tell this since we are never show which part of his body hit the ground first (which makes a huge difference if the head is first or the back or legs).

Even best case scenario the body would still be more mangled than is shown.

Ssiscool

Corrected entry: When Spooner is fighting the robots at the top of the computer at the end of the movie he loses his firearm over the side. It becomes hung up on a guide wire. How does the closed loop of the guns sling get passed the guide wire so it can become suspended?

Correction: Not a mistake, just shown too quickly. Watched in slow motion you see the loop of the sling go over the wire and catch on the protruding gun magazine.

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when Spooner and the Chief is at the bar, Spooner get up and says "I have to take a raincheck" and then picks up the tab for the beers. He pays for 2 beers but there was a total of 3 beers consumed. 2 by Spooner (The robot takes one away and gives him 2) and 1 by the Chief.

brentwpb

Correction: No mistake. He only pays for his own beers. Or he could have already paid for the first beer he drank.

Soylent Purple

He says "here let me get that" and pays - it's likely that he paid for his first round before the chief arrives.

Corrected entry: Dr Calvin 'kills' Sony but puts his chip in a empty NS-5. Later Sonny says his father gave him an extra strong/dense arm, so he can go through the protection and take nanos. Only the body he is in is not the one his father created for him.

Correction: No she replaced Sonny fully with an empty robot to 'kill'. He keeps his own body.

lionhead

Continuity mistake: Right before the Demolition Robot starts tearing through the house, Spooner is talking to the cat, and in the close up shots of the cat it is sitting down, but in the shots of Spooner with the cat, it is standing up.

Del Spooner: Do me a favor and keep that kind of shit to yourself.

Trivia: Alan Tudyk, who did the voice of Sonny, is actually visible in the film for one frame. When the stand-in robot is killed in Sonny's place, Alan can be seen in the brief flash after the nanites are injected. Confirmed on Visual Effects Team commentary. (01:18:20)

Question: If Lanning really had leaped from that distance, wouldn't he be unrecognizable upon impact and not with only a little bit of blood coming from his mouth?

Answer: He'd certainly have a lot of internal injuries that aren't visible, would probably have more injuries showing than that trickle of blood, but wouldn't necessarily be "unrecognizable."
