Factual error: At the end of the film, when Duchovny and Jones are on the ladder truck shooting the head and shoulders, they are yelling "go go go". They slide down the ladder and the next shot is the fire truck speeding away. Movie elapsed time 5 seconds. It is a physical impossibility for a fully extended ladder to be lowered, retracted and bedded in a span of less than 4-7 minutes. Even if the hydraulic lines are cut, the ladder would remain upright and not collapse/retract. (01:32:59)

Evolution is a goofy comedy about an alien infestation coming from a crashed space rock. Silly creatures evolve and soon everyone tries to stop it in the most odd ways. It's OK.
Harry Block: Testing, testing, one, two, one-one-one-two... this is D.J. Harry Block here, and I'm an Aquarius.
Ira Kane: Harry, would you stop it? I can hear you.
Harry Block: Don't you snap at me, unless you want an angry solid gold dancer on your hands, Ira.
Trivia: "Evolution" was originally written as a serious sci-fi thriller by writer Don Jakoby. When Ivan Reitman signed on to direct, he felt the concept would make for a good ensemble comedy, similar to his film "Ghostbusters." Jakoby actually liked the idea of reworking the film into a comedy so much, he stayed with the project and assisted in re-writes.
