Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Plot summary
Directed by: Peter Farrelly
Starring: Jeff Daniels, Jim Carrey, Lauren Holly, Mike Starr
Two friends from high school, Harry and Lloyd, live as roommates in Providence. They're both quite dim and can't hold a job for very long. Lloyd, while working as a limo driver, is hired to take Mary Swanson to the airport. He is instantly smitten with her and falls in love. He drops her off at the airport and he sees her leave her briefcase in the middle of the terminal. What he doesn't know is that the briefcase is full of money, a ransom payment, for her husband who was kidnapped. Lloyd interferes with the pick-up and tries to get the briefcase back to Mary before she gets on her plane. He is too late, so he and Harry travel across the country to Aspen, where Mary is headed. When they get there, Mary starts falling for Harry however and Lloyd gets jealous.
Lloyd: This didn't come out of our travel fund.
Harry: Oh.
Lloyd: Yeah, I was able to raise 25 extra bucks before we left.
Harry: Where did you get 25 extra bucks?
Lloyd: I sold some stuff, to Billy on 4C.
Harry: The blind kid?
Lloyd: [Laughing.] Yeah, yeah.
Harry: What did you sell him Lloyd?
Lloyd: You know, stuff.
Harry: What kinda stuff?
Lloyd: Few baseball cards, a sack of marbles, [coughs.] Petey.
Harry: Petey? You sold my dead bird to a blind kid? Lloyd, wh- he- wha- Petey didn't even have a head!
Lloyd: Harry, I took care of it.
Trivia: In the bar scene Lloyd sees the newspaper clipping on the wall and says "No way! We landed on the moon?" This wasn't in the script - Jim Carrey improvised the line and it was left in the movie.
Question: What is the trailer both were watching on TV while they were having some snacks in bed in the Aspen hotel room?
