Continuity mistake: After leaving the diner, Lloyd & Harry are pulled over by a motorcyle cop (Harland Williams). As the cop notices the beer bottles on the floor of the van, you'll notice his hair has a curl hanging over his forehead. Right before he takes a drink of one of the bottles, the curl is gone. It cuts to Lloyd & Harry trying for a brief second , and when it cuts back to the cop saying "You'd shut your mouth if you knew what was good for ya," the curl is back. (00:28:06)

Revealing mistake: At the Swanson's ski-lodge, there is snow on the rail of the balcony, but the mountains in the background are completely snowless. (00:29:27)

Continuity mistake: When Mary's family is shown in their home in Aspen. Mary is sitting on the couch with hot chocolate in hand, and is shown with her right leg crossed over her left. However, when Nicholas walks in, magically Mary's left leg is crossed over her right. (00:29:27)

Visible crew/equipment: When Lloyd is daydreaming about Mary as the doors to Mary's house open and Lloyd picks up Mary. He lifts up her skirt to show a little flesh, in the background you can see the feet of two crew members laying on the ground holding the doors open. (00:31:10)

Continuity mistake: When Lloyd states that the map says they've only driven a quarter of an inch, you will see a creek with a unusual tree growing around it. You see the same creek and tree when Harry and Lloyd pick up the "gas man". (00:37:00)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Harry's van has bucket seats, yet later on when the "gas-man" rides along, he is sitting on a bench seat in-between Harry and Lloyd. (00:38:00)

Suggested correction: Mental isn't sitting on a bench seat, it's implied he's sitting on the floor of the van in between the both of them. Although hard to see, the backs of the bucket seats can still be seen behind Harry and Lloyd at certain points. You see a fair bit of it behind Harry whilst he's dancing as Lloyd sings the line "and if that mocking bird don't sing".

Suggested correction: Maybe the bench-seat folds down; out of the way somehow?

There's no evidence of this, especially since we see the floor where the bottles are. And it doesn't explain where the bucket seats went.

Continuity mistake: When Harry delivers the dogs, there is no carpet on the floor in the car. But when the indians are sitting in the car suddenly there is a carpet on the floor. (00:38:55)

Audio problem: When Harry and Lloyd pick up the hitchhiking natives, when they were playing the mockingbird song, the guitar was playing but his hands weren't moving at all. (00:40:38)

Other mistake: In the scene where Lloyd hears footsteps approaching his bathroom stall, he locks the door so that Sea Bass can't enter without forcing it open, as seen in the following shots. But if you look closely at the space between the partitions as Lloyd turns the locking handle, you can see how the bolt moves only halfway between the door and frame thus never actually locking. Other mistake: You have to know Colorado to get this one, but the two guys are on a trip to Aspen to return the suitcase to the woman. But when they finally arrive, they are not actually in Aspen like you are supposed to assume they are. The whole Aspen scenario actually takes place in Breckenridge ski resort. (00:54:10)

Audio problem: Just before Lloyd and Harry set out for Aspen on the mini bike, they clumsily attempt a high five. At this point Lloyd asks Harry if he still wants to go to Aspen, but when he says, "Oh yeah" his lips are forming altogether different words. (00:55:00)

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Harry stops and says to Lloyd,"look at the butt on that", there is a man with a blue coat that walks behind them into a store. When Harry and Lloyd turn around to keep walking, you can see the blue coat man entering the store once again. You may have to freeze frame it to see the man the second time. (00:57:45)

Revealing mistake: When Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are fighting at the park over the briefcase, the snow is obviously foam or some other material. The same thing also happens right when they get to Aspen and walking from the street on to the curb, the snow moves. (00:59:24)

Continuity mistake: When Lloyd is trying on tuxedos, the shot from the back of Harry's head you see a short cigar in his mouth. In the next shot from behind (when he stands up), the cigar gets bigger. (01:04:40)

Continuity mistake: During the snow owl benefit, Mr. Swanson (Mary's dad) is introduced. The next shot is from behind the stage facing out to the crowd and you see Mary's stepmom (Teri Garr) raise her arm in the air as if to "present" Mr. Swanson. The very next shot is from the audience perspective facing the stage, and Teri's arm is at her side, and she raises it up again to present him. (01:06:44)

Continuity mistake: When Mary and Harry are talking about the "Bull-Shit" there is a shot of Mary close up where she is laughing and smiling. Look behind her and you will see a woman in a black and gold glittery dress walk past. Then when the shot changes to both Mary and Harry together the woman is instantly 3 or 4 feet in front of where she was and seems to be engaged in a conversation with someone else already - instantly. Continuity mistake: At the ball Helen and Harry are talking and in the background you can see Lloyd and his hat is on the bar. A second later he shows off his butt and he is holding his hat. (01:10:29)

Factual error: Harry's tongue gets stuck to the chairlift, and stays stuck, even though it's not cold enough to see anyone's breath, or for everyone to need their jackets zipped-up. (01:11:30 - 01:13:35)

Visible crew/equipment: I think you can only see this in the DVD version, but when the guys are at the important benefit with the owls and Lloyd pops the cork off the wine bottle which kills one of the owls, in the part where you see behind the cork and it is spinning you can see the stick which holds it (the cork) up. (01:12:02)

Continuity mistake: There is a scene just after Lloyd meets Beth in the bar when Mary is skiing along and looks around for Harry who is still stuck on the ski lift. The shot is comprised of a long shot of her skiing to a grey marker and then a close up of her stopping and looking around. It is obvious in the shot when she comes up to the marker that the woman on the skis has much darker hair than Mary and is her "ski double". (01:13:20)

Lloyd: What do you mean you don't bet? Wussy! Wussy!
Harry: I never have and I never will.
Lloyd: Yeah, right. I bet you twenty bucks I can get you gambling before the end of the day.
Harry: No way.
Lloyd: I give you three to one odds.
Harry: No.
Lloyd: Five to one?
Harry: No.
Lloyd Ten to one?
Harry: You're on.
[Lloyd and Harry both shake hands and smile.]
Lloyd: I'm gonna get you.
Harry: Nuh-uh.
Lloyd: I don't know how, but I'm gonna get you.
Harry: Nuh-uh.

Trivia: In the bar scene Lloyd sees the newspaper clipping on the wall and says "No way! We landed on the moon?" This wasn't in the script - Jim Carrey improvised the line and it was left in the movie.
