Aladdin

Continuity mistake: After Aladdin has been captured, Jasmine storms up to Jafar as he is exiting his secret lair which is hidden behind a sliding wall. When Jafar realizes the Princess is approaching he hastily closes the door on Iago the parrot. When Iago calls out he "can't breathe" the pattern carved into the bottom of the sliding door disappears, but reappears once Jafar kicks Iago back into the secret lair.

Continuity mistake: Jafar hyponotizes the Sultan to steal the Mystic Blue Diamond. A dramatic downward shot of the Sultan walking toward his model of the Palace shows a entire collection of large artifacts against the wall to his left: a Pegasus sculpture, a gold carriage, a gold globe, and an assortment of pillows on the floor. As Jafar leaves, these items have disappeared.

Continuity mistake: When Genie explains to Aladdin what wishes he can and can't have, the lamp is visible on the ground in front of Aladdin, but in the shot where Genie says, "Other than that, you've got it," the lamp has disappeared from the ground.

Continuity mistake: Aladdin and Jasmine climb over the edge onto the first rooftop on their way to Aladdin's secret hideout. As they climb over, the wall around the roof has a very flat top with sharply defined edges as well as deep crevices indicating that it is made from large blocks. In the next shot looking down the same wall has a very smooth rounded adobe top with no lines or crevices on the top or sides.

Continuity mistake: Aladdin is scaling the stairs that lead to the lamp in the "Cave of Wonders". The downshot as Aladdin just begins to climb, shows all of the steps are deeply recessed into the rocks. As Aladdin climbs, a distant silhouette shot shows Aladdin climbing stairs projecting from the rocks. When Aladdin reaches the summit, all steps are recessed except the last five. Once Abu takes the jewel from the idol's hands, the cave begins to collapse. As Aladdin runs down the stairs, all of the steps now project outward substantially from the rocks.

Continuity mistake: When Aladdin has just escaped with Jasmine from the Apple Vendor problem, and have climbed onto a roof top, a long shot shows the building rooftop that they must leap to next door is exactly the same distance apart from the front to the back of the building they where first on. It looks like 12-15 feet apart. When Aladdin makes the leap, the view from the alley way showing Alladin's leap between the buildings shows they are are substantially further apart, 25-30 feet, and situated more corner to corner than side by side. But when he lands they are side by side again.

Continuity mistake: When Aladdin is shackled in the dungeon seated against the wall with his hands above his head he is bathed in moonlight coming through a window. The camera actually pans from the window directly to Aladdin so that the light source is definite. The window has nine open panes, the light it casts has 12 panes.

Continuity mistake: In the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin picks up the lamp. In one shot the handle is on the right and the opening is on the left. In the next shot, it's the other way around.

Continuity mistake: At the climax, Aladdin sneaks up to the lamp and we see his hand is only an inch away when the metal fruit dish falls. He remains motionless as Jasmine kisses Jafar. But after Jafar sees Aladdin's reflection, Aladdin is much farther from the lamp.

Continuity mistake: When Iago is trapped in the secret door as Jasmine runs up to Jafar, he loses some feathers. He is then kicked down the passage and the feathers have disappeared, but new ones are flying off. Iago forces the door open later and the second batch of feathers is now missing as well.

Audio problem: During the song "Prince Ali" when Genie sings "then come and meet his spectacular corterie" his lips don't move.

Continuity mistake: When Jafar, disguised as an old man in the dungeon scene, first tells Aladdin of the "Cave of Wonders", to the left of where Aladdin is seated, you can see down a corridor, 20-30 feet deep, to a small set of stairs with an arched door at the top. When the old man puts his face right up to Aladdin's face and says "You've heard of the Golden Rule, haven't you", we look in the same direction as before, however, now a solid block wall has appeared just three stone blocks away from where Aladdin is still seated.

Continuity mistake: After Ali is introduced to the Sultan and Jafar, Jafar walks forward. There is a large gold lamp present in every other scene that should be in front of the panel Jafar is in front of; it is missing here.

Continuity mistake: Sultan and Jasmine are confronting a kneeling Jafar in the Throne Room about having the boy beheaded. The opening is a long shot looking down, The runner rug leading to the Throne is 4-5 feet wide as we see Jafar kneeling on it. Later when the Sultan joints Jasmine's and Jafar's hands, the view shows the participants on a runner that has tripled in width.

Continuity mistake: As the guards chasing Aladdin run over the hot coals and their shoes are catching on fire, The sword in the belt of the guard in the lead disappears from his belt halfway across the coals and then reappears after he has made it across to the dirt street again.. (00:08:20)

Continuity mistake: When Princess Jasmine enters the marketplace, a small street urchin boy is trying to grab an apple off the apple vendor's stand. She walks over and says "you must be hungry". At the point that you only see the boy's face looking up at Jasmine, look to the left of the boy's face - the apples he was reaching for are wrapped in a brilliant blue silk cloth. In every other shot they are in a wicker basket.

Genie: But oh, to be free. Not to have to go "Poof! What do you need, "Poof! What do you need, Poof! What do you need?" To be my own master. Such a thing would be greater than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world. But what am I talking about? Let's get real here, that's never gonna happen. Genie, wake up and smell the hummus.

Question: What does Aladdin mean when he says: "Look at that Abu, it's not everyday you see a horse with two rear ends."?

Answer: Aladdin is referring to the person riding the horse as being a "horse's ass" in the way he is acting, thus the horse the person was riding on has two rear ends, his own and the rider.
