Revealing mistake: The newspaper says that the Pink Panther was stolen on 24th January. The scenes of Gstaad, in the Swiss alps, were obviously not filmed in January. The temperature in Gstaad gets up to about 5°C/41°F in January yet people are shown wearing light clothing with bare arms.
Continuity mistake: When Clouseau is repairing Sir Charles's doorbell, he takes out several tools including a hammer. He tries several times to stop the ringing with the hammer, then sets it down. The shot changes to show the butler in the doorway, and when it returns to Clouseau, he is suddenly holding the hammer again.
