Continuity mistake: When Alex and his droogs come in on Billy Boy making ready to rape the young girl, the first shot shows the lacing of a shoe or sandal on the girl's left calf, but afterward it jumps to her right.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Plot summary
Directed by: Stanley Kubrick
Starring: Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee, Warren Clarke, Michael Bates
Alex DeLarge (McDowell), a violent juvenile in the near future, is caught after a number of brutal rapes and murders. While imprisoned, he submits to a controversial experiment to make criminals ill at the mildest suggestion of violence or conflict or anything sexual. Now Alex's victims want to welcome him back into society with the same enthusiasm Alex had always exhibited when performing his crimes.
Trivia: The book that F. Alexander is writing when the droogs burst in and attack his wife is "A Clockwork Orange."
Question: I don't understand why Alex waits until Mrs. Alexander has unchained the opened front door and fully opened it, before he and his droogs break in. I'm sure the four of them could easily have broken the chain off with a bit of force. Is it simply part of Alex's nature to be invited in, before he starts his attack?

Chosen answer: It's part of the "fun element" of the crime to get the victim to open the door themselves.
