Continuity mistake: When Austin enters the room with the fountain in the factory, he kicks out the power cord. Every shot that you see with the power cord in it, the cord is in a different position every time. (00:55:20)
Plot hole: When Austin and his father Nigel disagree as to how to proceed after Goldmember gets away, they part ways. So why does Austin take his father's car? (01:06:25)
Visible crew/equipment: In the shot where Austin is on the bed with the twins, the one on Austin's left lifts up her ankle on the bed. There is a cable visibly stuck on her shoe. It slips off after about a second.
Continuity mistake: The rearview mirror of the BMW Mini is visible during the exterior shots of the car. However, in all the interior shots it's gone.
Continuity mistake: Just after Nigel and Austin are turned around on the bed to face Goldmember, we see Foxxy filing Goldmember's nails from behind. In the very next shot where we see the front of Goldmember his nails are still being filed, but then in the next shot Foxxy is simply standing there and Goldmember sitting still as if they were doing nothing. Continuity mistake: In the scene that Austin is talking to Fat Bastard just after he jumps trough the bathtub, there are two fat guys behind him, in the next shot, one of them is in a different place.
Other mistake: In the middle of the movie after Goldmember brings out Austin's father, he knocks out the guards. Two shots later for about three seconds you see the guards getting up.
Continuity mistake: When Austin and Foxxy are in the Shaguar lookin at photos of Mr. Robato, there is one pic of Robato and Goldmember inside the factory. That picture is a frame from when you actually see the two in the factory loading Preparation H and Goldmember receiving the key.
Deliberate mistake: Basil tells Austin he is being sent to Studio 69 located on Eighth Avenue and 69th Street in New York City. However there is no such address. Eighth Avenue ends at 59th Street, after that it becomes Columbus Avenue.
Factual error: If you look closely at the bar in the club when Austin goes back in time, there is a bottle of Tangerey "Ten": a gin only recently introduced, so it would not be around in the '70s. (00:23:51)
Continuity mistake: During Goldmember's entrance scene, one can see a black female skater behind him on his right and a white female skater behind him on his left. When they all get to the bottom of the ramp, the two skaters have switched places.
Factual error: After Fat Bastard's sumo match he goes to the toilet -- a Western style toilet. The sumo arena, especially the locker room area, would be traditionally Japanese. There is no way that a Western style, sit down toilet would be found there. What we should see is a silhouette of Fat Bastard squatting down over a Japanese style toilet which is like a trough in the floor. (00:48:00)
Plot hole: How can Austin's Father be so young? Don't forget that Austin was frozen for 30 years, so their age gap should be 30 more than normal; but despite that the age gap between them seems about normal for a father and son.
Suggested correction: This used to drive me nuts as well, until my latest viewing when I realised Goldmember first kidnaps him in 1975, and brings him to the future. As for Nigel missing Austin's award, maybe in the first timeline Nigel lives to be 95 ish.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dr. Evil tells everyone to get out of the room, Dr. Evil and Scott both fold their legs and look at Mini Me. in the next scene, their legs are both unfolded. (00:52:05)
Continuity mistake: The plate of asparagus in the fountain room is not seen when Austin first enters the room. When Austin plugs the fountain back in, the plate disappears.
Continuity mistake: When Austin and Foxy are in the time machine leaving the club about to travel to 2002, Foxy is wearing large gold hoop earrings, but after the first shot she only has one earring in (the left ear).
Continuity mistake: When Austin kicks Mini Me, the knife and envelope are dropped under him. Two shots later, the knife is still there but the envelope has vanished.
Continuity mistake: During the beginning credits with Tom Cruise as Austin Powers, he parachutes into his car. The sky during this sequence goes from a few clouds (mostly just blue sky) to overcast, and back to blue sky and a few clouds.
Continuity mistake: When Austin, Foxxy, and Mini-Me come out of the chamber from outside the sub, the water spilling out goes into a drainage grate below the door. However, the amount of water on the floor increases without very much coming out from the door.
Revealing mistake: During Dr. Evil's prison rap, there is a group of girls circling around Mini Me. One of them has her chest pixelated to create the illusion that she's topless. However, you can still tell that she has a top on, because you can see shades of gray in the pixelation.
