Spider-Man

Continuity mistake: When Peter is taking out the trash, and begins talking to Mary Jane, as she walks toward him you can see her underwear sticking out above her pants. As the shots change, this underwear seems to appear and disappear. (00:28:40)

Continuity mistake: During the World Unity Festival, the Green Goblin seeks revenge upon his ex-coworkers. The Goblin throws a pumpkin bomb at them that makes them all disintegrate and disappear. One of his coworkers had a wheelchair with him, which survives the Goblin's bomb and remains on the balcony. (You can see the wheelchair while they are being bombed and after they disintegrate, all in the same shot.) For the rest of the scene, the wheelchair has disappeared from the balcony. (01:04:45)

Continuity mistake: During the World Unity Festival when the Goblin attacks, there is a shot of Peter tearing off his shirt exposing a costume that is low cut at the neck. However, in the scene when Spider-Man and Mary Jane kiss in the rain, the costume comes halfway up his neck. (01:17:55)

Continuity mistake: When Peter is talking to Mary Jane outside the diner, the same man wearing a flat cap is walking behind Peter 3 or 4 times. First when Peter says "so you're acting now?", then when he talks about Harry not living on earth, then again when Mary Jane walks off. (00:55:15)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the World Unity Festival, as the balcony first collapses, a blond woman and a man are running to get out of the wreckage. But in the next shot, the same couple just stand under the falling balcony looking up and Peter uses webbing to pull the standing-still couple to safety. (01:04:15)

Continuity mistake: In the school cafeteria after Peter saves Mary Jane, he notices the fork that is stuck to his hand. If you look at the back of his hand, the spider bite is gone. In the next scene, it is back again. (00:21:45)

Other mistake: When the cable car is dropping and swinging around, the occupants of the cable car remain standing in the same position. They should have been thrown to the floor when the initial drop was halted, and should have been tossed from side to side in the car as it swung around. (01:38:30)

Continuity mistake: When Peter and Mary Jane are talking outside the diner, her trechcoat collar is first lying flat, then is tucked in, then is flat. It happens several times when the shot goes back and forth from Peter to Mary Jane. (00:55:10)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Spider-Man is taking snapshots of the armored car burglary, one of the burglars says "watch the street". As the camera snaps you see them pointing rifles or machine guns towards the sky and when Spider-Man lands on them to dispatch them, the weapons are gone... (00:58:20)

Other mistake: After Spider-Man saves MJ after the World Unity Festival and is swinging quickly away, he is carrying her so that she is facing backwards. When we see a shot of MJ smiling, however, her hair is blowing very lightly in the direction they're heading. (01:07:10)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the scene just before the final fight between the Goblin and Spider-Man, Spider-Man gets knocked through a wall and rolls right up against another wall, but when the bomb flies in as he's getting to his feet, he's suddenly in a much more open area with no wall anywhere near him. (01:40:55)

Continuity mistake: When Peter Parker runs into the alley and tests his wall-crawling for the first time, when he runs into the alley the wall he climbs is brick covered with dirty black soot/fungus. After he begins his climb it is completely brown. (00:24:50)

Continuity mistake: When Peter Parker is chasing the school bus for the first time, the bus stops and it is entirely visible that there is nothing in front of the bus. When the camera is switched to the inside of the bus to show Peter stepping inside to apologize to the bus-driver, however, a tractor-trailer suddenly appears only yards from the front of the bus (visible through the windshield). Some road markings also appear. (00:03:50)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Peter is jumping from building to building after he first learns he has powers, you can see that he is jumping over the same alley over and over, only taken at different angles. The clotheslines (and the shadow of them on the wall) is a good pointer. (00:25:10)

Other mistake: When Peter talks to Mary Jane on the cell phone, it's already been mentioned that cell phones don't have dial tones, but additionally, if we couldn't hear Mary Jane actually talking, it wouldn't make sense to hear her hang up either. (01:08:25)

Continuity mistake: Jameson is sitting in his office when another man bursts through the door. Jameson jumps and turns to look at him twice- first in the wide shot, and again in his closeup.

Spider-Man mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: When Peter wakes up and discovers he can't see through his glasses, you can see a phantom hand on the left sliding out of view in the mirror. This happens the last time Peter tries to see through his glasses. It's not a reflection of his hand due to the angled edge - it's on the main part of the mirror. (00:18:05)

Continuity mistake: After Peter punches Flash in the guts during the Flash/Peter hallway fight scene, in Mary Jane's closeup she looks surprised, and behind her on her right is a surprised guy wearing glasses. After Flash's friend says "Jesus Parker, you are a freak," and Harry says "Wow, that was amazing", the same guy suddenly appears on Mary Jane's left, looking happy and clapping. It cuts to a closeup of Mary Jane and the same guy appears back on Mary Jane's right, looking somewhat surprised again. (00:23:50)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Other mistake: During the shots of newspapers with articles about Spider-Man, if you look closely at the shot of the newspaper article just before the shot of Spider-Man putting on his mask, the second column is repeated in the fourth column - easiest to spot is "NYPD spokesperson, Sean Young..." appears twice. (00:52:55)

J. Jonah Jameson: He doesn't want to be famous? Then I'll make him INfamous!

Question: What was Tobey Maguire's full process to get Spider-man's body? What was his body and fighting training and food diets? Is there any website where they have it in full writing?

Answer: The following is taken directly from People Magazine May 27, 2002: WORKOUT: Maguire exercised for at least 3.5 hours, six days a week, with his regimen varying "depending on how sore he felt," says Joujon-Roche. Mornings were spent improving his flexibility with yoga and splits, along with building strength through abdominal and lower-body exercises on an oversize ball. "We would just work on each body part until we killed it," Joujon-Roche says. "Then the next day we'd go to another and kill that one." Afternoons were devoted to cardiovascular activities like martial arts and cycling, to burn fat, plus gymnastics. "Tobey did his own flips with that Spider-Man hood on," says Joujon-Roche. "We gave him self-assuredness." DIET: For breakfast Joujon-Roche made the actor, a vegetarian, a "high-protein shake that included nuts, essential oils and vitamins." Lunch, he says, was often "marinated tofu with broccoli and walnuts and dinner a big veggie burger with brown rice." The menu varied with Maguire's output. "If his workout was pure weights," says Joujon-Roche, "he needed protein. If he did cardio, he'd have a shake of all carbs."
