Dracula
Dracula mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Lucy tells Mina that she's accepted Arthur's marriage proposal, we see the garden pond at the bottom of the stairs leading up to Lucy's bedroom, which has a pedestal in the middle, topped with a tall, pointed pyramid sculpture. When Dracula enters Lucy's garden maze after the Demeter docks in London, the camera pans up the stairs and back again, and the pyramid has a different shape and is much smaller. When Lucy walks down the stairs in a trance, the large pyramid is back. (00:36:40 - 00:40:20)

Continuity mistake: When Dracula drops Mina off the coach, and in the establishing shot of the scene where Van Helsing tasks Quincey with guarding Lucy, there is a giant fence outside Hillingham, Lucy's estate, with considerable distance between the fence and the estate. However, the opening wide shot of the scene where Dracula arrives in London shows that the building is facing the edge of a giant hill, with no fence outside (it is definitely the same side of the building, because the architecture is identical). Continuity mistake: When Dracula bumps into Mina on the street, the newspaper he just bought is tucked under his left arm, but in the next shot, when the camera pans downward as he catches the bottle, it is gone. (00:45:45)

Continuity mistake: When the wolf scares Mina in the movie theatre, her hat switches back and forth from being forward on her head, to being tilted back. It does this in about 5 shots. (00:53:40)

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Seward and Van Helsing run into Lucy's bedroom, in the first shot, she is lying sprawled on her bed with her head resting against the pillows at the top of the mattress. In the next shot, she is lying in the middle of the bed, about a meter away from the pillows, with her legs going over the edge of the bed. (00:59:10)

Continuity mistake: When Van Helsing performs the blood transfusion on Lucy, her dress keeps changing position; most noticeably, she keeps alternating between having one breast exposed and being fully covered up. (00:59:35)

Continuity mistake: When Van Helsing and Dr. Seward prepare to perform the blood transfusion on Lucy, as Seward asks, "You perfected a procedure?", in the background, you can see Van Helsing take off his scarf. In the next shot, he takes it off again. (00:59:45)

Continuity mistake: Before the wreath of garlic falls down on Lucy's bedside table, it can be seen hanging on the lamp, but in the previous shot, as well as earlier in the scene, there was no garlic on the lamp. When Lucy grabs the vase from the bedside table a couple of shots later, the garlic that fell down on the table has mysteriously disappeared. (01:09:35)

Continuity mistake: When Mina receives the letter after Jonathan escapes, she's holding it in her hands as she begins to climb the stairs, but in the next shot, her hands are empty, best seen when Van Helsing holds her hands. (01:10:00)

Suggested correction: Mina is in two different sets. The first she is in front of a gate. Of course, she has plenty of time to put the letters away.

I have checked the scene and you are absolutely right - Mina is indeed standing at the gate in the first shot, which gives her enough time to put the letters away before walking up the stairs to see Lucy in the second shot. Sorry, my bad.

Continuity mistake: When Mina sits down on Lucy's bed to tell her the news about Jonathan, the pillow under Lucy's back and the one next to it on her left both have a distinctive pattern. In the next shot, both pillows have a different design. When Mina gets up, the first pillows are back, but when Lucy starts noticing the garlic, the second set has returned. Then, when she smashes the vase in anger, the first pillows are there, but when Lucy yells, "It's nothing but common garlic!", a third set of pillows appear behind her back, which change into different pillows two shots later. Continuity mistake: In the shot where Mina sits down on Lucy's bed to share the happy news, Lucy's upper body is propped up against a pillow and the top of her head is positioned above it. In the following shot from behind her head, her upper body is resting on the mattress and only her head is positioned against the pillows. When the scene cuts to a close-up of her face, her entire head is positioned below the top of the pillow. (01:11:10)

Continuity mistake: When Mina moves the vase of garlic flowers sitting on Lucy's bedside table, in the close-up of the vase, the bouquet is quite full and the flowers look healthy, but when Lucy grabs the vase a couple of shots later, the amount of flowers has dwindled and many of the plants are drooping. (01:12:32)

Catwalk

Continuity mistake: When Arthur sits by Lucy's bed while watching over her, as Dracula appears outside the window, there's a quick shot of the bedroom from outside, and Arthur is nowhere to be seen. In the next shot inside the room, he sitting by the bed again. (01:16:15)

Continuity mistake: When Van Helsing tasks Quincey with guarding Lucy, as he asks, "Do you understand me?", Van Helsing's arms are down by his side and Quincey is holding onto the hat on his head with his left hand, while the rifle in his other hand is down by his waist. In the next shot, their arms change position: Van Helsing's hands are gripping Quincey's coat and Quincey's left arm is down by his side and he is holding the rifle up by his head (before bringing it down to waist level again). Continuity mistake: When the men open Lucy's grave, Van Helsing's lamp and hammer, sitting on top of the stone lid, switch position between the shot of Van Helsing and the following shot from above. The same thing happens after they see the empty coffin. (01:21:20)

Continuity mistake: When Lucy enters the crypt, the candles on her left side ignite twice, once in the wide shot where she walks down the stairs and once in the following close-up of the candles. (01:22:40)

Continuity mistake: When Van Helsing forces vampire Lucy to go back into her coffin using a cross, as Lucy lies down in the coffin, he lowers the cross gradually. In the next shot, he is still holding it up. For the next few shots, the cross alternates between being lowered and being held up. (01:27:00)

Continuity mistake: During the crypt scene, the shot of Lucy lying down in the stone coffin and the following shot where she sits up and vomits blood on Van Helsing, show dramatic difference in the depth of the coffin. (01:27:00 - 01:27:05)

Continuity mistake: When Van Helsing fends off Lucy in the crypt, he forces her to lie down inside the stone coffin and fall asleep. However, when Arthur and Van Helsing proceed to kill her, you can see that she is no longer lying inside the coffin but is lying on top of it, on the stone lid; this is best seen in the overhead shot where we see the stake go through her heart and the shot where her head is sliced off. There is no way that the vampire hunters took an angry and dangerous vampire out of the coffin, proceeded to push the heavy stone lid back into place and then placed her on top of the lid before they proceeded with their grisly work. Trivia: The marriage scene between Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder was performed by an actual Romanian Orthodox priest. Contrary to rumours this made the marriage legal, that wouldn't be possible without corresponding paperwork, which of course they wouldn't have had.
