Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

Continuity mistake: When Amanda Shepard's watching the video of Dr. Crews forcing Tina to move the matchbook, on the left side of the screen, there are two plaques on the wall two inches apart from each other, but in the next shot as Dr. Crews enters the room, the plaques are now four inches apart.

Factual error: When Tina and Jason are in the basement, she sprays gasoline at him. It's clear like water. Considering it's covered in cobwebs, it's been there a long time and would be dark in color, because it gets darker as it ages.

Continuity mistake: The scene where the AA couple is having sex in the van, the guy suddenly has shoes on when he exits looking for Jason. You see him supposedly putting on his pants under the covers, but no shoes.

Suggested correction: We don't see everything he does under the covers. Plus it cuts to the outside and showing him exit the van, but we are not given a time frame of how long he was in the van before he exit's it.

Continuity mistake: When Jane is killed, blood comes out of her mouth. Yet there is no blood when Michael sees her pinned to the tree.

Continuity mistake: When Tina has run down to the decking (in the scene when she releases Jason from the lake) the prominence and position of tears on her cheeks keeps changing. (00:14:00)

Continuity mistake: Russell's dead body, lying on the shore, is in the wrong position. He crawled away from where he was sitting and was hacked in the face and fell backwards. Yet in the shot of him dead his head is resting next to where he was sitting originally. (00:35:40)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: Melissa's position instantly changes between shots as Tina is going to the boot of her car to when it cuts to a closeup of Melissa speaking. (00:08:05)

Hamster

Revealing mistake: When Dan is gathering wood for the campfire, in the shot when he splits a log with his machete you can clearly see that it was already broken. (00:25:20)

Suggested correction: It also shows him swinging the machete once before breaking in half. A machete wouldn't be strong enough to cut the log in half with just 1 swing. The log was obviously being struck before it broke.

lartaker1975

Continuity mistake: When Jane is waiting for Michael in the forest in some shots she is standing right beside a tree, in others no tree is visible (although it would be in shot if it were there.) (00:18:40)

Plot hole: In part 6, Jason kills numerous people as well as the entire sheriff's department (minus 1) yet investigators just leave his body in the lake and not recover it? Very unlikely.

lartaker1975

Revealing mistake: When we see the shot of David's head, you can definitely tell it's a prop head.

Continuity mistake: Outside the house when the last pillar on the porch breaks we can see Jason looking up and then to the side. When it cuts he looks up and to the side again. (01:12:30)

Suggested correction: Because he's reacting to the noise and each part of the roof falling off each time.

lartaker1975

Continuity mistake: When Crews is opening the drawer to take out the iron pole you can see the pole changes position in the drawer between shots. (00:38:30)

Mortug

Continuity mistake: When Eddie is reading stuff from his pile of paper you see the pile is disordered. When it cuts to the pile, it is fine. (00:20:20)

Mortug

Continuity mistake: The video monitor and VCR on Dr. Crews' desk disappear as Tina looks at the picture of her father. Additionally, there is a model train on the desk in some scenes, but not in others.

Continuity mistake: When the girl is looking for her earring she kneels down beside a huge tree. Then suddenly the tree is gone. (00:45:25)

Maddy: "Need a little touch-up work" my ass.

Trivia: During his four-movie tenure portraying Jason, Kane Hodder actually put a lot of thought into the character, and developed what he thought Jason's personality would be in order to give himself motivation for the role. Hodder also created a strict set of rules that he would follow while playing Jason. For example, Hodder felt Jason would never hurt animals, since he had a childlike mind and wouldn't want to harm a creature he saw as inherently innocent. And more importantly, Hodder insisted that while he played the character, Jason would not harm or go after children, since he "drowned" as a child and recognizes them as being innocent like he was. While the rules do somewhat contradict earlier films, Hodder stuck by his guns.

Question: How can Jason go into the lake in Parts 6 and 7 if he's afraid of water due to drowning? He'd freeze up from the sight right?

Rob245

Answer: Jason being afraid of water is not portrayed consistently throughout the series. Continuity between sequels was not a major concern when making this series.

BaconIsMyBFF

Answer: I think that Jason is actually afraid of unpredictable situations with water. He is familiar with Crystal Lake after living in the forest for so long. He might be less hesitant to enter this lake sometimes.
