Jaws 2

Continuity mistake: When Brody is with the photograph developer, who is developing the divers photos for him, he takes a photo from a box and puts it in a tray of liquid, and he then puts the lid of the box on properly. Then in following shots the box lid alternates from on properly, to off slightly. (00:49:00)

Continuity mistake: When Brody is in his office, he pours a coffee. Then in one shot you can see the mug on top of the filing cabinet, and the phone rings and Brody walks over and answers it - both hands empty. Hamster

Continuity mistake: Brodie is racing in his vehicle down the beach to investigate an incident, driving to our left. He then gets out of the car and is shown running down the beach to the left. Unfortunately, the scene was shot with Brodie running to the right. The editor simply reversed the film so Brodie would be running the right direction. You can see backwards writing for about 2 seconds.

Continuity mistake: When Terry is water-skiing, the sky keeps alternating from cloudy to sunny and back, and the roughness of the waters she skies on changes as well. (00:17:45)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: After Chief Brody is fired from his job, he comes home drunk. No beer cans can be seen spilling out of his car or on the ground. The next day when he is taking his wife to work, there are several empty beer cans on the ground. Where'd they come from?

Continuity mistake: Chief Brody and his raft disappear from under the shark when it catches fire. Understandable, as they were burning the model shark for real, but still poorly edited.

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Lureen Elkins is walking around the dead whale you can see a man in a black t-shirt in the background covering his nose with his hand and then lowering his hand. When it cuts to a close-up of Elkins and Brody, the man is still covering his nose. (00:27:40)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Terry is water skiing, the boat has a 70hp 3 cylinder Johnson. When the shark is eating the boat it's a 1977 55 horsepower motor that still has the 70hp decal on it.

Continuity mistake: When they are all sitting at breakfast, Michael says how he's going out sailing. The position of the mini Rice Crispies box on the table turns about 90 degrees between camera shots.

Continuity mistake: Brody has a hold of the large power line, and the shark is gliding along straight for it. In all the shots of Brody holding the power line, the green jacket he wears has wet splashes on it. One patch of water on his right shoulder briefly disappears for one shot, the reappears in the following. (01:46:45)

Hamster

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Brody approaches the group of teenagers on their smashed boats, the angle cuts to show Brody approaching seen as if from Cable Junction. At this point, there is a huge mistake. The teenagers' boats are clearly visible in the foreground, the kids have all completely vanished, and you can spot the cameraman standing on the boats quite clearly.

Question: Is the shark in this one at all related to "Bruce" (the shark from the original film). The woman's line "Sharks don't take things personally Mr Brody" made me suspicious.

Connor Noiles

Answer: For what it's worth, in the novelization the shark is a female and pregnant with the offspring of the first movie's shark, but that's not brought up in the film at all.

Chosen answer: That is highly unlikely. The woman is only pointing out to Brody that he is making it a personal issue when what he is dealing with is an animal that lacks emotion, intelligence, or self-awareness and is only acting on its primal instinct.

The ironic thing is that is the entire plot line for Jaws: The revenge.
